We were looking for a place to stay for 1-night on our way through to Vancouver Island.Big mistake! The kitchennette cupboards were falling apart.Doors were missing.Coffe pot didn't work.Only 1 package of coffee.Ceiling tiles were falling down..Table hadn't been cleaned.Old food product still stuck to table.Light bulbs missing from fixtures above sink & washroom basin.Light sockets are left empty & bare,creating a major electrical hazard.Window in bathroom is growing black mould.No smoke alarms.Shower curtain is from th 50's.It is so stiff you can barely move it.Place should be used for fire practice for Fire Dept.Doesn't anybody inspect these places?Reviews I see are from 2013/2014.What about 2018/2019?

The 'resort' could definitely use a make-over. It is old and in need of some TLC. I was with 6 friends and we rented cabins 5 & 6. The cabins are very roomy and clean. Although the cabins can accommodate 4 people, in our cabin there was only enough cutlery for maybe 3, there was only 2 coffee cups, 1 plastic wine glass, 1 glass tumbler, no cereal bowls or side plates but a variety of dinner plates. The management desperately needs to attend details like this. They should at least have enough place settings for 4 people. 
The grounds were beautiful but the apples that had fallen from the big tree needed to be picked up. That is an attraction for bears and we don't need that!! We didn't have the best weather so we weren't able to go out onto or into the lake.
The price is reasonable. The 7 of us plan to go back next year but hopefully in the early summer so we can enjoy the outdoor space.
I would recommend this place to anyone who isn't looking for a 5 star resort.
Management - do some updates and provide ample kitchen supplies and you'll do amazing business.

Great location, secluded, remote

Hotel standard is typical low end old  Canadian standard. Family cabin is a good size and you have your yard amazing views  whole kitchen snd fridge dinning table. Lots of TV Chanel’s lake to yourself. 
Highway is loud but the birds singing  can still out the traffic. Maybe better then staying in Hope Town.

Do NOT stay here.  The cabin (C2) we stayed in should be condemned and I am truly uncertain how it is still standing.  I don't mind dated accommodations, and wasn't expecting 2 or 3 star from the price we paid.  But there is a big, BIG difference between dated and run into the ground.  The owners are clearly just milking every penny they can from this place until they're forced to close it.  There is no way to determine if the cabin is even clean, as it smells old and musty, and the flooring is old and worn.  The floor has so many soft spots where the subfloor has rotted, that we were concerned we may fall through.  I think the only reason the toilet hasn't fallen through the floor is because of the plumbing attached.  We mentioned the run down condition of the cabin and they just giggled and pretended not to understand our comments.  Stay anywhere but here!! Too bad, because it is a beautiful little lake.  The place just needs a bulldozer...

Not a resort - should be closed down!

This place is not only run down and smelly but the owners feel that children over 12 should be charged extra and as adults. So a family books a cabin there and then gets charged for each kid you bring??? What a joke. Spend your money elsewhere, heck, stay in a tent right in the water.

The owners are very nice and helpful people. The place is old but clean and reasonably priced. The beautiful setting at the lake is perfect to bring your kids and pets. Also bringing your own cooking utensils is a good idea.
