If coming to Sandanski by bus the hotel is about 500 m away. Taxi will cost mere 2 leva. I was given nice twin room having a big balcony and lots of sunshine.
Room was modern and clean and bathroom with shower. Distance to the main restaurant/shopping street is just 50 m. No breakfast served and cash payment only.
Hotel manager was very friendly but spoke only Bulgarian. He was totally surprised when I asked bill for payment made. He made writing it very complicated but finally gave me 'smetka' (the bill). I was quite obvious why he was hesitant to write it!

Offers rooms in pretty new building

I'm tempted to give 2 stars, but I won't. The room itself was clean and in good order. But we were told we were getting the room with the best view (view of the mountains), and even paid extra for it...the only thing we had a great view of was a giant garbage pile right outside our balcony (I'm including a photo for proof), from the building next door which appeared to be undergoing a renovation. And the noise level was barely tolerable. Every late morning, we were awoken by the sounds of the owner and maid shouting at each other and slamming doors, just outside of our room. We also could smell cigarette smoke drifting from one of the adjacent rooms. And lastly, the free WiFi signal was terrible, and unusable for much of our stay.
