Bashtina Striaha is a lovely house decorated in traditional style, set a few streets away from the main square so everything is nearby.  There are restaurants and minimarkets within 3-5 minutes walk.  Parking is available on the street just outside the house which is very safe.  It is a very peaceful area and really quiet at night - the only thing you can hear (if you have the window open) is the small stream which runs down the centre of the street, it is a very relaxing sound.  We were greeted by Mariana who spoke excellent English; she was friendly and willing to chat, and available if we had any problems or questions (we didn’t).  Our room had windows to the front and back which made the room light and airy.  It was a good size with lots of storage and sockets, there was a small table, stools and a comfy chair.  It had a proper double bed which was very comfortable; the bathroom was a good size and there was lots of hot water for the shower.  Mariana had thought of everything - even down to the cute elephant towels :-) there was good wifi, a big fridge, kettle, cups, a box of plates and cutlery, iron and even umbrellas - which was very helpful as we had torrential rain in the afternoon and evening (the only bad weather of our trip).  The guest rooms had their own staircase and door onto the garden which meant you were free to come and go as you pleased without worrying about disturbing anyone.  The secluded back garden was very beautiful and would be a lovely place to sit and relax on a sunny evening after a day wandering the town.  Unfortunately we only had one night here - we were delayed by the rain on our long drive, so arrived a lot later than planned and had to leave mid-morning to get back to the airport so we did not have as long as we would have liked.  Koprivshtitsa is a wonderful town and fully deserves much more time than just a few hours!  We would love to return and explore it properly and if so, we will stay again at Bastina Striaha.

Cosy, traditional house and friendly hostess

Charming place for a family visit in the region. We enjoyed warm welcome and loved the rooms. Restaurant offers fantastic food and culinary delicacies from the region - ask for the homemade "baklava" on special recipe of the house! Excellent value for money!

A charming guest house very near the centre.
The room was spotless, airy and large. Plenty of hot water in a large bathroom, and a working fridge and free tea and coffee.

One of the few owners in town that could speak good english.

Great place

I loved. I booked for 13 euros, and it turned out to be a huge room, with fridge included, and a small table with its sofa and some stool. The bathroom was also large and comfortable. The bed, a double, large and comfortable. The owner, very friendly. I loved staying in this house, and would repeat without hesitation. It is close to all tourist sites, walking distance. It has a very nice garden, full of plants. Not a noise at night.

We picked up our rental car in Sofia in the AM........after a 4 night stay in Sofia and drove to Koprivshtitsa.  While our GPS found the location, we kept wandering around until a guy went out of his way to find the exact location. he was fabulous.  Used to live in K....but is now in Ireland.
Our room was sweet.................we both had the feeling we were in grandma's house!
You couldn't beat the price: 35 BGN......location was convenient.....delightful owners....comfy bed and GREAT restaurant suggestion: Chuchura. For us the negative was tyhe bathrm shower: didn't use it.Lovely garden setting also.
But it turned out we really could have spent a few hours in K and then drove on to Plodiv.  Live and learn.
if we didn't stay over then we wouldn't have experienced a GREAT meal at Chuchura!
