79 reviewsVila Mato Verde is a nice pousada far away from all the noise of the 2nd beach. When we arrived on the island by boat a guy carried our luggage ( 7 Reais per bag) on a pushcart to the 2nd beach. A "taxi" took us to the chalets. The rooms are nice and clean with mosquito nets in front of the windows. Unfortunately the beach was not as expected. During high tide the water is so high that literally no beach at all is left. During low tide the water is far away. You have to walk over many stones and corals and there are just puddels to swim in. Once we tried to snorkel but we didn´t see many fish. During high tide you can walk for hours along the deserted beaches. If you want to go out for dinner at night to the 2nd beach Sandra offers a ride in the trailer of a tractor. The ride takes about 30 minutes and is pretty rough considering the street conditions ( if you could call it a street). But you can also have dinner at Sandra´s.
