We have visited the Auberge des Pérees on a regular basis over the last 20 years and are always happy to return. The rooms are pretty basic and perhaps a little bit overpriced, but it is a lovely rural auberge with a cosy atmosphere and good food in an area with plenty of great walking and cycling routes.
The owner and chef is a good cook, but perhaps a little bit overambitious, and the quite imaginative dishes which he produces are sometimes too complex, with too many heterogeneous ingredients, and he would probably benefit from a bit more simplicity in his cuisine. 
Nevertheless, the menu at 67 Euros including wine is good value, and we will no doubt continue to come back once a year to enjoy the auberge, its cuisine and its surroundings.

Lovely rural auberge serving good food

If you really in for a quiet time out in the Ardennes Belgium (Belvaux Sur Lesse) than this is the place to be. Out in the country side, while the nice picturesque cities are at a few km. drive away this is the place to be. The price for the room is steep, don't expect a modern atmosphere. The television did remind me at my student years. The bed is very good though, don't worry about outside noises, there are none :-). The bathroom is very basic, but effective. I was surprised about WIFI (not everywhere a great connection but it is there!). 

The in house dinner is a completely different story. Although I did not have any click with couple running the hotel, sure they are nice, but let's say English is not one of their priorities and Dutch also limited (not so strange for the France part of Belgium), so really connecting troublesome. The food which is custom made by them, a la cart, is also not cheap, but this is really worth the money. Amazing dishes at a place you completely not expect them, simply great to enjoy this in the middle of nowhere. 

All in all a good two nights stay. Fantastic food, good night sleep.

Food fantastic, hotel ok

This B and B is not in Rochefort but is in a beautiful little village just outside the town. In the evening, walk along the river - there is a beaten path running along side it if you start opposite the old church. The hosts were just lovely.  We arranged our stay in a mix of English and French but in the days of google translate, it was not a problem.  On arrival it became clear that Madame spoke no English  -her husband does however and arrived later, full of interest about what we wanted to do in the Ardenne. You will need a car to get around but it is worth it.  We were there to look at some specific WWII sites but wish we had longer to go on some of the walks in the area.  The rooms are in an old stone house. The owners live off site but were there whenever we wanted them and are only a 5 minute call away otherwise.  We had the run of the house to ourselves at night and sat in the garden with the only interruption being from the owner checking of we had enough to drink.  I'd recommend eating in the restaurant at least one night - there is no pressure to - they ask if you would like to but i suspect that's just for numbers.  Breakfast n the morning was lovely and on  the second day Madame laid the table outside for us in the sun.  Love the jam!
