Maison D'hôtes Cerf'titude

When I was looking for a place to stay after having been 5000 km through France by car I needed something distant from all those industrial / commercial hotels along the road so I looked for something a bit off. When I found this Maison I immediately liked the images and the good comments that people made about it. And we have not been disappointed. The communication upfront was already nice and friendly and when we arrived we got a hearty personal welcome by Isabelle, who also just came back from their own vacation. The room was very great as well as the rest of the Maison. A lot of the furniture and equipment is hand-crafted such as the wooden elements (lamp stands, tables, cabinets) by Bennoir and the ceramic elements (cups, dishes, lamp housings) by Isabelle. So we immediately loved the room for being different and exactly what we looked for. We had the "Nature" room with the kids having a separate floor inside the room from where they loved to look down on the parents bed. Then outside you have a big garden, again with hand-crafted seating furniture to sit there and enjoy the silence and peace of the surrounding woods. Next, there is a common living room for the guests to seat, have a drink from the fridge or a coffee from the coffee machine which we also used and enjoyed. But then the breakfast was even better. Everything being either a local product (cheese, smoked ham, bread) or even being made by Isabelle and Bennoir (sweet bread, marmalade, omelettes). We were asked abut special wishes and got a freshly made Omelette and fresh orange juice. So if you look for something about from the industrial bedding in the area and are ready for some deceleration in your life, even if just for a couple of hours, then this Maison is the place to go. We especially like the warm and personal welcome and good byes and the personal breakfast service. Standard industrial hotels where the staff is only concerned with getting the next table cleared for the next guests waiting cannot certainly not compete with this treatment :)
