Clean rooms, wonderful food, friendly athmosphere... The owner Karl is really nice guy. He plays also music instruments and play folk music. We had really wonderful holiday. Gabor is magic barmen.Hotel is very closed to Mayrhofen ski center. There is free shuttle. 

A really fantastic hotel nesteled about 15mins out of Mayerhofen in an adjoining valley. Access into this valley is through a one-way only, traffic-ligh-regulated tunnel, that can sometimes be a bit annoying (15min cycle), but the skibus knows the traffic light schedule, so no dramas there! only word of warning, once in the valley, tehres only one road, and it can be closed due to avalanche danger (avalanche risk is reported several times a day, and the road can be closed in response to these rports withonly 1/2 warning)... so, if youre on the slopes, it can happen that youre cut off from your hotel for the night, or as with us, cut off from the slopes, stuck in the hotel for 3 days! fortunately theres a small local ski lift operating in the valley, and provided perfect chill time practicing the moves in some ridiculously deep powder!

Hotel itself is family run, and they really put their hearts into it. rooms are big, theres a ski gear room, and drying gear, sauna and 'quiet' area. the food is home made and good (although a bit repetitive if you eat there for a week) but the breakfast are fantastic... everything you need to get you onto the hill in top gear each morning.

whole heatedly recommended, but only for those not interested in drinking coktails all night in the middle of town (bus doesnt run that late!)

We stayed at the hotel for one week in Feb 2011. The hotel is in Ginzling, ca. 8 km from Mayrhofen. The free ski bus stops right in front of the hotel. It is an ideal place to stay for ski holidays, if you are not too keen on extensive après ski. You reach Ginzling through a tunnel, that only has one lane and is open only in one direction at a time and it can happen, that you have to wait for up to 20 min. in front of it.
Gasthaus Schwarzenstein is a lovely family owned hotel. Very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked with breakfast. Nothing fancy and the same every day, but it was fresh and good. For lunch and dinner they offered local specialties à la carte. The hotel also had a little sauna area that was included in the price. They have WiFi-internet, but that costs extra.
