We spent three nights in Unit 1 at Kara's the week before the winter ski season opened. we had a fantastic time. We live in WA and the purpose of the trip was to allow us and out two young children to spend some time with their grand parents (both sets). the unit is well set out, with an awesome central fire place (gas) and 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, so plenty for everyone. The kitchen area enabled us to cook most nights (but the one we didn't we hit the burger bar and were not disappointed). We had 6 adults and 2 children and didn't feel like we were cramped at all. The communication with the owner was really easy and everything was set-up as promised when we got there. Angel, their executive concierge, was also on hand if we needed help with anything. overall a really enjoyable 3 nights, wished had stayed for more.

Great Family Trip

Pleasant elevated location amounst the trees with filtered views over the mountain.
Overall, more pros than cons at the end of the day.
Pros
- staff at village incredibly helpful and friendly
- Unit offers modern style and décor - beds and lounges comfortable. 
- excellent views over valley - peaceful location
- close walk to all amenties - shops, cafes and walks/bike trails. 
Cons
- no coffee/tea satchels provided in room - might sound a bit harsh but this is basic thing provided in nearly all places around the globe. Then again, you can go and buy a small jar of instant coffee at "foodworks" for $10.00 (triple the price)
- broken glass in room and dirty plates/glasses - having a glass of beer with dried milk in the bottom of the glass wasn't the best
-  sink in separate toilet had leak in s-bend - washing hands and then feet in same motion.
Might sound like an exageration above, but similar to Thredbo itself, plenty of natural beauty and so many things to do such mountain biking, hiking, tennis....the list is endless - but on the flip side, it is let down by the little things that one would expect. 
Probally the best thing is that we were rarely in the apartment except the morning and evening. 
Would return to Thredbo, either winter or summer, but day trip only and stay elsewhere

Middle of the road

We stayed in the Karas #5 for a weekend in March. Apartment was clean but let down by poor lighting. Old fluorescent globes were very dim and should be replaced by much  brighter LED globes. Natural light was also poor so basically the apartment was dim and drab 24/7. See attached photo. Leaking bathroom sink and a toilet seat that didn't stay up didn't help raise the tone of the apartment. Overall it was poor value.

Very ordinary and very dark

We, 5 adults, 2 children stayed for 3 nights in the ground floor unit, No 1, which has a second level where the 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms are located. The location was perfect, central to everything. Great view. We stayed for the purpose of walking to summit of Mt K. See review. The unit was well appointed and nothing was left wanting. It was 20deg while we were there and rooms were cool but if it got hotter don’t know how we would fare as no aircon or fans. We slept with door to balcony open. Screen door kept insects out. There’s no parking onsite so cars are either left at bottom car park or top car park which is located on second entrance to Thredbo village on the road coming in from Jindabyne. We are planning a return trip and would stay here again. 

Lovely Apartment 

We stayed for 6 nights and found the lodge was perfect for 4 adults and one child, has everything one needs, great heating which made it nice to back to after having time out in the cold, washing machine and dryer, great little kitchen with all the utensils you need, close to a complimentary bus stop, walking distance to shops and restaurants, perfect for your winter or summer holiday
