We were after a quiet retreat for several days & we found it at Terragong in the lush Jamberoo Valley. Renovated with passion, care, style & taste, the house, built in 1858 is a treasure. So too are the couple who run the establishment. Simon & Darryl are kind, generous & attentive hosts with whom it is easy to converse yet have some private space. The 3 bedrooms are super comfortable, furnished tastefully & have private bathrooms. We were amply provided with breakfasts every morning & could curl up in the library for an evening rest & nightcap. From our base, we were able to easily travel the 10 minutes or so into Kiama where restaurants abound. For our particular purposes, a golf course was handily nearby at Jamberoo. Perhaps we shouldn't be giving away our secret favourite destinations but that would be antithetical to the Tripadvisor ethos! Enjoy this delightful stay.

Beautiful B & B in lovely Jamberoo Valley

We stayed at Terragong for two nights and we were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The house and the estate are absolutely stunning and meticulously cared for. Everything about the experience was exceptional. Attention to detail second to none. Simon, Darryl and daisy made us feel at home right from the get go, to the point of not wanting to leave. Simon’s two course breakfast were extremely delicious and afternoon drinks and nibbles are a must. Couldnt fault anything. Can’t recommend enough.

Expectations greatly exceeded at this beautiful country estate

There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe how wonderful it is to stay at Terragong! It's like visiting with loved ones who want to spoil you rotten and in total luxury! Simon and Darryl provide such a unique experience, and are so passionate about their beautiful heritage listed home, that you will start checking your diary to see when you can book your next visit. They don't just provide a gourmet breakfast! There are so many extras such as pre-dinner drinks and nibbles, which have been home-made, a butlers pantry with a freshly cooked fruit cake to go with a vast selection of teas and coffee, but also when you arrive back from your meal out, there are after-dinner drinks in the Library where you can explore their amazing book collection in front of a lovely warm fire. When we arrived back at Terragong after a day out, my daughter said, "I feel like I've just come home." But, it's so much more than just a home away from home!

A luxury experience on every level.

Image your best friend was a butler and they had you over for the weekend at their national trust listed and immaculately restored historic country estate to spoil just you! Well, that was our experience at Terragong.

Only minutes to beaches, rain forests, panoramic lookouts and top-class dining. 

Not only are Simon and Darryl amazing hosts, with abundant heritage knowledge, gourmet traveller-like culinary skills and world-class interior design finesse, but Daisy their rescue dog was a bonus friendly and most loving icing on the cake complement to our stay.

Image the brownie points I got when my mother-in-law said: “It was the best weekend away I have ever had in my life”. 

We can’t thank you enough and we also can't rebook quick enough!

Favourite Place On The Planet! (to stay and be spoilt)

Terragong 1858 Country House was much more than we expected. The setting is a beautiful Georgian house in a rural landscape of gnarled old trees and green pastures.  It is not far from the village of Jamberoo.

What made this stay so enjoyable was the generous hosts who go out of their way to make you feel very welcome. Their attention to detail in every aspect of their home and what we experienced was extraordinary.  I cannot imagine more attentive hosts. They operate on a very generous philosophy that too much is never enough.  

Their heritage house has been lovingly restored so it is much more than a beautiful home.  It has been filled with fine furnishing and collections that they are keen for their guests to enjoy. 

I recommend that you read all the other reviews for more details, or like us treat yourself to a stay at Terragong and you will be satisfied beyond your expectations.

Hospitality in relaxed luxury

Thank you to Simon and Darryl for making our weekend so perfect - we had the most wonderful stay. 
We highly recommend Terragong for a special event, a chance to relax or just because. 
From the moment Simon and Darryl greeted us on our arrival, we felt welcomed like friends and instantly felt at home. Terragong is stunning, it’s a beautiful Georgian home that just exudes the love and care the owners have put into everything they’ve done. It is exquisitely decorated and has views of the gorgeous property and the surrounding undulating farmland.  Everything was so lovely that I had to sit for a while in each of the public rooms to take it all in - the fine furnishings, the timber windows and doors from the 1800s, the artworks and the views.  
I think that Simon and Darryl are the best hosts we’ve ever had - they have thought of everything that a guest could want and done more. Simon is an amazing cook, and his love of cooking and fine food is showcased in every last detail, from the beautiful menu tailored to each guest, the incredible 2 course breakfasts, the delicious platters for happy hour and drinks and chocolate left out should you want a night cap at the end of the night. Other reviewers have mentioned the boiled fruit cake on tap, and yes, that was also given a good nudge during our stay.  
Oh and then there is Daisy, their lovable, spoilt, but rightly so, rescue - she was the icing on the cake. 

If I could give 10 stars I would

Terragong is a very upmarket B&B and unlike a lot of B&Bs it lives up to everything it claims to be. House is beautiful, pool is great, and Simon & Darryl are wonderful hosts - you feel as if you’re old friends rather than just paying guests in their home !
Simon’s breakfasts are amazing too !

Georgian splendour

I can’t speak highly enough of Terragong 1858 Country House Bed & Breakfast. Simon and Darryl are the most amazing hosts, and the house itself combines beautiful heritage style with modern luxurious touches. It really was a home away from home for us, and we can’t wait to visit again.

Luxury escape with all the little touches

We just spent last weekend of Nov 2020 in this beautiful Heritage Farm House in Jamberoo, Kiama. Simon and Darryl were very welcome when we arrived. The House is amazing, very well designed and maintenanced, every little touch from the owner makes it perfect (little flowers in bedroom). Simon baked us all a cake to share during our stay, cooked yummy snack food during happy hour in the afternoon and prepared every morning a healthy breakfast which was very impressive. 
Even we were there during hottest day of Spring, 40-43 deg but the house design makes it very cool. The bed is so comfortable which we slept through whole night and almost late every morning for breakfast. 
We love the swimming pool most because it makes us feel like we were having an escape to somewhere in Italy or French village in Europe.   
Simon and Darryl are great host, they advised all good restaurants and places to visit in the area. 
We travel alot in Australia and this is one of place we want to come back. Hope soon.

Best Luxury Farm House in Kiama

Stayed here for 3 nights, and could not ask for a better experience.
The Georgian house has been sensitively and luxuriously restored.
The hosts, Darryl and Simon, are so attentive and helpful, that I can not think of any facet of our stay that was not "outstanding".
There are 3 bedrooms as part of the B and B, each decorated individually. The beds are great, truly comfortable. Each has a modern and fully equipped bathroom.
The decor and design throughout is excellent - truly "Darryl". And Simon is great font of knowledge and fun.
Each breakfast was varied and outstanding.
Highly recommended.
