We stayed 4 nights in the family unit which was very spacious and has everything you need with a full cooker, microwave, fridge and everything to cook with. The bed was very comfortable. The apartments are right in the Rainforest with lovely gardens adjacent to them which makes such a lovely setting. We were lucky and saw the cassowary making his trip through the garden. The apartment is very well located to explore the Daintree Rainforest. Thank you Marie for all your help and advice on where to go and for a lovely stay.

Loved our Rainforest stay

Booked ahead for once. Chose well. Marie welcomed us. Three units in the building, two of which are doubles, the other family. The units are well-appointed looking out to the rainforest. Depending on one's timing the Cassowary's appear. The lodge is central to the region's attractions,and Marie will assist.

Two nights in the Rainforest.

The lodge reminded us of an African safari lodge set deep in the jungle with a fairly open plan to the unit. Jungle right outside our room with the sounds of the forest so close.

The unit was excellent and the beds comfortable and we slept well.

Close to most things and Marie was so friendly and helpful with suggestions.

Wifi was free and fast.

Would love to stay again.

Loved our stay

The owner Marie was super helpful, she handed us out the region map and explained the main things around, was very genuine. She was always ready to answer all our questions and providing tips. The microwave in our unit wasnt working, but we loved the accomodation otherwise, that was what we wanted, simple but close to nature ! Loved all the earthy smells around, this property is surrounded by lush greenery and also there is a resident Cassowary, if lucky he will come by ! While in the property you would feel that you are in deep forest, this property is just off the road ! Thats the best thing. Its great value for money. Thank you for having us !

Wonderful Stay !

My wife and I spent four nights here. We received a warm welcome and received lots of local information on activities and best places to eat. We enjoyed the location and the self contained unit. We used the BBQ most nights and just chilled out in the evenings in the bush setting listening to the birds. A great place to us as a base when exploring the Daintree.

Surprised to read the more negative reviews. We had a lovely stay and used 2 of the units for unfortunately only a one night stay (wish we had stayed longer)! Owner was very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were given some great advice and maps to help us out! Great location in the middle of the rainforest and lots to see and do a short drive away (too much for only a nights stay!!) The accomodation was clean and tidy and had everything we need, it definitely did the job for us! Some issues with the WiFi not everyone in our group managed to sign on but hopefully you won't need it when you are in such a fantastic location and you can get such helpful information from anyone local! 

Lovely Stay

Stayed here with friends over a long weekend. It’s in a great location, deep in daintree but in between Cape Tribulation and Cow Bay which makes it great so getting around and exploring. The place is looking a bit tired and it’s a very simple set up. Had planned to cook dinner and chill each night, but with such basic facilities it was easier to head out for dinner. Friendly staff gave some great recommends. Staying connected and searching/planning activities was an issue as there was no phone reception and WiFi was super slow. Still an ok place though.

Nice spot 

We booked a double unit that was very nice get away from Cairns for a few days. The units were surrounded by Daintree Rainforest and I enjoyed sitting on the patio whilst working on the Wifi. We also had the opportunity to see a family of cassowaries that I have never seen before! Deep Forest Lodge is located central to both Cape Trib and Cow Bay and was ideal for exploring the area. Marie was very friendly and knowledgeable giving us some great places to visit, will be recommending to our friends.

Beautiful Stay in the Rainforest

We (a family of 5) stayed at the lodge in July for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. The location in the middle of a beautiful garden roamed by Cassowaries was stunning. Having one of the only grocery stores a 2 minute drive away was handy. Marie’s friendliness exceeded our expectations, she went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We will definitely return and will recommend it to our friends.

Quiet retreat in stunning surrounds

If you are after an authentic Daintree experience then this is for you. The hosts are lovely. 

The property is nestled in the forest and is very secluded. We stayed in unit one which sleeps up to 5. It has everything you need but is extremely basic. 

Clearly not been renovated since 70s and zero mod cons. We booked for 2 nights and only stayed 1 as this wasn’t what we were after.  I think our neighbours in the unit next door slept the night in the car...
