Beatiful modern hotel with autside pokol. The hotel is brand new so the rooms and
shared areas are sparkling. Cleaning ladies took care of room everyday so it’s
perfect. Beach and nothing bad tó say clean nice enough space for everyone.
We always found sunbeds. Wi-Fi was workink perfectly. Great staff most of them are
Young speak English.

One Week at the hotel

Room - Nothing bad to say. Our was with sea view and big double bed. Also Tv, fridge, sofa -bed (we think, didint check properly), big closet. Wi-Fi was working perfectly!!!. Conditioning. We loved this room. Cleaning ladies took care of room everyday, so it's perfect, because we used to go to beach everyday and in the evening room was full of sand and all towels were wet. 
Food - Nothing bad to say. If you want 10 choices every breakfast, lunch and dinner, this hotel is not for you. But for us quantity of choices was enough. Food was fresh and tasty. Breakfast is always the same (as in most of hotels we stayed), but lunch and dinner was always different (we stayed for 8 nights). Most of the time you get 2-3 types of salads, feta cheese, some dressing for salads, pasta with something, meat (chicken, pork), fish, potatoes, vegetables stew, rice. For our last dinner we got muscles. Also there is always a desert (fruits or something national). 
Beach and pool - nothing bad to say. clean, nice, enough space for everyone. Whenever we came to beach, we always found sunbeds. Beach sand was cleaned everyday in the morning.
Hotel advantages - loads of restaurants around and small markets, bus stop to Durres 1/2min walk, very quiet (you have to walk a bit further to find loud bars and clubs to dance). We always felt safe and welcome. Great staff, most of them are young and speak English (enough to get all basic information). 
ONE ADVICE - don't change money in hotel because they give you lowest rate possible, go to market ant they will give you a better one (in hotel they changed for 1 eur = 115 lek, in market 120 lek and in bank 121 lek).

Loved our stay

We had an all inclusive stay which included breakfast, local alcoholic beverages (konjak, rakia, vodka, gin, wine and beer) and local non alcoholic as well (cola, orange lemonade, water) 10:00-22:00, lunch, snack and dinner. All inc.drinks were self served and not cold enough. There weren't many kinds of meals at certain time but the stuff was refilling empty plates till the real end of breakfast/lunch/dinner which was for us more important than x kinds of food. The variety of food was changing in aprox.three day intervals which was  ok. The main thing is that food was realy tasty and albanian local! The stuff was ok and head waiter was really helpful and english-speaking. He also helped us to rent a car and manage lunch packs. Rooms were ok, but those without balcony were bit humid. Rooms cleaning wasn't everyday, which was suprising for us. Hotel has very good position. It' s on the beach, few kilometres from the city Durres, with small market and bus stop really near. Anyway... We loved Albania as it is and enjoyed stay in the hotel. If you know, that you' re visiting Balcan and how things going there, you won't be upset!

Better that avarage in compere with the rest of the country

This is our second time in Albania. Hotel is near other hotels in area called Kavaje. It has 7 floors and on each floor 8 comfortable rooms. Most of rooms have balcony and sea-view. All rooms have plazma TV, bathroom and refrigerator. Furniture is new in Italian design. All rooms are cleaned daily and towels are changed also daily. Sheets are changed every other day. Hotel has private beach with umbrellas and deck chairs (which are free). Every morning beach is cleaned. Breakfast is served in smaller restaurant near beach. There is no loud music near hotel. Not far are few supermarkets and restaurants with tasty food that is not expensive. If you want to go in center of city you may go with bus (not so regular and last one leaves at 10:30) or with taxi (expensive and not recommended). You also may go by feet but there is no walking area so it is better if you walk on the beach from/to hotel Majestic. All in all it is nice and clean hotel with friendly staff who unfortunately doesn’t speak English well. But you should not forget that Albania is still developing and after only two years they showed remarkable progress.

Nice vacation

HOTEL: The hotel is newly renovated, the rooms are nice. The photos on the Itaka website of the outdoor pool and bar do not correspond to reality. The pool is quite small, not enough sunbeds. We weren't in it. There is an indoor shower and toilet by the pool, I definitely do not recommend it! There's no ventilation, it's damp and stuffy. Late checkout costs €50 until 16:00 and if you want to stay longer it costs €100.
CLEANING: satisfaction
FOOD: This was a huge disappointment! It greatly reduces the overall standard of the hotel. The level absolutely does not correspond to 4*!! A very small and repeated choice every day, sometimes we had to go to a restaurant because it was no longer possible to eat. I didn't believe the reviews, but it was true! Dessert 1x a day (at lunch) 1 type, which immediately disappeared. Food (mainly dessert and melons) disappeared from the counter within 3 minutes! There were often no knives or napkins available. Dry bread for breakfast. One bar for the whole hotel, big queues.
STAFF: nice young ladies at the reception + a bunch of young guys who manned the bar by the pool and the dining room. Smiling handy cleaners. We didn't see anyone else at the hotel.
BEACH: fine sandy beach, plenty of sunbeds, shower on the beach. There was a lot of seaweed in the sea and on the shore. Something was constantly stinging us in the water (thorns/stingers?), you couldn't see it, you couldn't resist it. The redness disappeared after an hour.
ANIMATION PROGRAM: there was none
SUMMARY: I would not return to the hotel. The price for this hotel is too high, it should be half the price!

HOTEL: Hotel je nově zrekonstruovaný, pokoje hezké. Fotky na webu Itaka venkovního bazénu a baru neodpovídají realitě.  Bazén celkem malý, málo lehátek. Nebyli jsme v něm. U bazénu je vnitřní sprcha a wc, určitě nedoporučuji! Chybí odvětrávání, je tam vlhko a dusno. Late checkout stojí 50€ do 16:00 a když chcete zůstat déle, stojí to 100€. 
ÚKLID: spokojenost
JÍDLO: Tohle bylo velké zklamání! Velmi snižuje celkovou úroveň hotelu. Úroveň absolutně neodpovídá 4*!! Velmi malý a každý den opakující se výběr, někdy jsme si museli zajít do restaurace, protože už se to nedalo jíst.  Nevěřila jsem recenzím, ale byla to pravda!  Dezert 1x za den (u oběda) 1 druh, který hned zmizel. Jídlo (hlavně dezert a melouny) zmizely z pultu do 3 minut! Často nebyly k dispozici nože ani ubrousky. Na snídaně oschlé pečivo. Jeden bar na celý hotel, velké fronty.
PERSONÁL: milé mladé slečny na recepci + parta mladých kluků, kteří obstarávali bar u bazénu i jídelnu. Usměvavé šikovné uklízečky. Nikoho jiného jsme na hotelu neviděli. 
PLÁŽ: jemná písčitá pláž, dostatek lehátek, sprcha na pláži. V moři i na břehu bylo hodně řas. Ve vodě nás neustále něco žahalo/štípalo (trnovky/štípalky?), nešlo to vidět, nedalo se tomu bránit. Zčervenání po hodině zmizelo.  
ANIMAČNÍ PROGRAM: žádný tam nebyl
SHRNUTÍ: do hotelu bych se už nevrátila. Cena za tento hotel je příliš vysoká, cena by měla být poloviční!

OVERPRICED "4 stars" : Nice hotel, horrible food, beach ok/PŘEDRAŽENÉ "4hvězdy":pěkný hotel,hrozné jídlo,pláž ok

The worst hotel I’ve ever been too. Where should I start? Probably with the the dirty beach. There’s a guy who’s supposed to clean the beach every morning but he does it only maybe once a week and rather spend the time at the bar smoking. The only thing he does is sweeping the sand away from the sun beds. The beach is littered with plastic cups and cigarette butts. There’ re only two bins for the beach and it’s always so much mess around them. Next I’ d move to hotel room.. The bedroom area is fine however the bathrooms is a disaster. The toilet is situated right behind the shower so you can not fit your legs to the space between the toilet and the shower wall so literally you have to sit diagonally when using the toilet. The other thing is that the shower isn’t equipped with any door or curtain so the floor is flooded after taking a quick shower. Finally I must admit the shower and the whole bathroom is quite dirty and the cleaning lady doesn’t really care. Let’s move to the food. Breakfast is every day the same and there’s not too many options to choose from and the bar in the restaurant is super dirty and sticky so sometimes I was really nervous about drinking my coffee. Lunches and dinners were fine nothing bad to say about it. However the thing that drove me crazy was the pool bar where you could get a beer or any other drinks. If you pay for all inclusive it doesn’t mean that you can get whatever you want. The offer is limited to only a few alcoholic beverages and juice from not very clean tanks. They keep alcohol on direct sun all day long so everything is super hot and those few cubes of ice really don’t help and also after drinking two of those drinks with local ice we suffered from diarrhoea. You don’t get any contact for the reception which actually doesn’t look like reception at all. And the very last thing is the situation with the safe in your room.. it’s not attached to wall or anything so anyone could simply go and leave with the whole safe (it weighs around 2kg!!) and your money or travel documents.
