Our room was very comfortable, good mosquito net and en-suite shower room, comfortable bed and spacious room. Food was lovely. The breakfast was cooked to our liking every day, and at a time convenient to us. Dinner was well cooked and very reasonably priced. My wife had the Bream one night and commented that she would have liked the usual local vegetables with the nshima. Why didn't you say? Next time she had it, they had been and bought the local veg. Now that is service. The staff are extremely helpful.

Excellent value for money

I stayed here for around 10 days. I had found this guest house online and picked it because it is in Kalundu, near the University of Zambia where I had to go for several meetings. I had made a reservation over the phone (via their landline: +260 211 293205). I spoke to Carol, who was very adaquate in making the reservation and asking if I needed an airport pick-up. I did need that and this pick-up worked very well. When I stayed there, the receptionist could always arrange a taxi whenever I needed one. 

This a fully Zambian run guest house. It is not very large, has around 12 rooms in the larger building and a couple cottage style small rooms in the garden area. I stayed in one of these cottages and it was great. The area around the guest house is very quiet. The garden is very nice and there are chairs etc to sit out on the grass. I had several (dinner) meals in the restaurant. The food was Zambian style and excellent. It did quite some time to prepare, but the cook is very good in estimating how long it will take. Ordering in advance works great. Breakfast is nothing special, but was never a disappointment.  

It is very good value for money. Wifi worked very well throughout the guesthouse; I could make skype calls with video. Rooms are clean, showers etc work well. Furniture is a bit simple, but very adaquate. You have a TV with lots of channels and a fridge in the room. When you need something extra, the staff will help out. 

I would surely stay at this place again whenever I go back to Lusaka.

Nice and quiet guest house, great value for money

Zebra Guesthouse has an array of rooms set in a quiet residential neighborhood on the east end of town, making in convenient for the U of Zambia, airport, Manda Hill area, and Arcades areas, without having to go through town and all its traffic. The highlight of the place is definitely its lovely gardens at the back of the house and free and fairly fast and reliable wifi throughout the complex. The rooms are decent, spartan furniture, fairly clean, though some lack basic installations like a shower head or a desk. The staff, however, is willing to rearrange things so that guests are comfortable and have what they need. You can hear everything and everyone throughout the complex, though the Executive rooms, which are set a bit apart on the two edges of the complex, offer a bit more privacy. The big negative here is the service, especially in the kitchen / dining hall. Breakfast took an hour and a half after asking three times. Lunch, though served until 2, was denied to us after 1:30. And dinner, well, even our Zambian friends canceled their orders and we went elsewhere because the food was poor. Aside from the poor quality of food and service, they really did try to accommodate us. I would go back, but I'd plan to eat elsewhere.

Adequate stay in Lusaka amidst a dearth of options

Zebra Guest House is like a villa converted to a guest house, with small gardens in the front and back. Some of the rooms are quite attractive, with garden paths leading upto them. They aren't maintained that fantastically, the furniture is quite creaky, but are good value for the money you pay.
The great thing about this guest house is the chef who serves up great local cuisine, such as Shima and fried fish. I would go back there to eat that anytime I happened to be in Lusaka.
The airport is located close to the airport. The staff is friendly.

Value for money and great Zambian food

Hotel is clean, every room seems to have sugar ants.
Have to step outside of your room and look for the switch to turn on your water heater.
