The hotel is good. Because all staffs so kind. And ,it 's a cheap!!! My wife and I stayed here 1 night. The room is clean and quiet! Ms.Boo booked some optional tours at there with cheap price and excellent quality  We did enjoyed saps and Ha Long bay a lot. Please stay there if you come Hanoi, we highly recommend this hotel for every travelers

Such a great hotel!

The location of this hotel is excellent.  Right by St. Joseph's Cathedral in the old quarter surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops.

The room we had was at the front so there was a little bit of noise but the big shutters kept most of this out.  The room was very big with a big double bed although the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable.  Breakfast was freshly prepared with plenty of choices.  Miss Kim was fantastic, so very friendly and really helpful.

I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and very reasonably priced

First Choice Hotel is situated in the Old Quarter, close to Lake, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, best beds ever!
Kim on the desk was extremely helpful with organising tours and arranging everything........money exchange, laundry, phone recharge, restaurants to eat at, shops to go to also the prices that we should be paying, all helpful advise, 
The staff are all welcoming, nothing is to much trouble, it has a family feeling.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

great location, comfortable, very helpful.

We stayed here for the reason that when we arrived at our original hotel of choice which was impressive hotel,they told us that they were fully booked,so will stay one night in this hotel and transfer to our original hotel in the morning.Fair enough as the room we were provided was too big for my wife and i,2 beds for 2 persons,i think it was like their executive room and it had a balcony,airconditioning was not that cold,and had to use the fan that was provided inside the room.

We stayed at Hanoi First choice in August for one night, then came back after a tour, and stayed another 5 nights.  Checking in was delayed with confusion on the staff's side, and after an overnight flight, it was not good. For the first night, the manager was extremely nice and helpful and gave us an upgrade free of charge, but when we came back after our tour, we were put into a tiny, claustrophobic room at the back of the small hotel.  The attitude of the manager had changed as she realised that we had pre-paid for our accommodation, and was not going to make any more money from us.  We agreed to pay an additional fee per night, as after having the lovely, spacious Deluxe room with a balcony on our first night, we were not going to be content in a stuffy, dark, gloomy room at the back (with no outlook - there were bars on the window facing a brick wall). 
The breakfast was basic, with only one choice of drink provided - either a tea, coffee, water or juice. We could not have a coffee and a water, or a coffee and a juice.
Other than this, the hotel is in a great location, and the staff did their best.  Albeit, the manager's change of attitude towards us.
