Alpes

I left with a good taste in my mouth, having stayed two nights at the Alpes. It is located in a green residential neighborhood just a few blocks from the beach, but away from the high rise jungle of buildings along the coast. It is run by a family and is only open during the peak summer season. Do not expect luxury here; the term that applies might be endearingly dated. The front patio and reception area are attractive, but the rooms are right out of 50s and 60s small town motels, ( therein lies its charm! )with few updates, air conditioning probably being the biggest addition, which I did not need, owing to the pleasant weather. While this is not Marriott or Holiday Inn Express, the rooms are neat and clean. A decent breakfast is served. The big plus here is the friendly and hospitable family. There are only fourteen rooms, so it is sort of “ 50s boutique. “
