Stayed here for a couple nights while enjoying the beach. My 1st impression was the room was very small and bathroom also. This didn't really bother us as we just wanted it for sleeping and nothing else. Got a great sleep here. This is a clean hotel. When I say clean it's really clean. The pool in very clean. Deep end is 8ft deep. The owners Kathy and not sure of husband's name are very friendly. The location is great and very close to beach. I would definitely stay here again. FYI there is a microwave, coffee pot, fridge, small flat screen TV. Didn't see a iron or safe. Not sure if there is a ice machine. There is no table or chairs inside room these aren't deal breakers though. We will be back next yr for sure. Thx Mark 1.

Great 1st visit

We stayed here just one night after extending our stay in Wildwood Crest (had stayed a few blocks away the previous 2 nights). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to the beach. Clean pool which the kids enjoyed. Small room and bathroom but comfortable for the night. Although there was no official closet, appreciated the bar for hanging clothes which the previous hotel we had stayed at was lacking. Enjoyed the view of the ocean from our second floor room.

The Mark 1 Motel is a home away from home. My family has been staying almost every summer since I was a child, and my father and his siblings when they were children.

Best bang for your buck, and CLEAN! 

Kiddie pool for littles. Changing room with shower for after you check out or before you check in (we always arrive at 8 am but check in isnt until 3 pm, but our rooms are almost ALWAYS ready before check in time, and Cathy or Chris calls us to let us know the room is ready). 

I hope they stick around so I can continue to bring my children here year after year. So hospitable - WE LOVE IT!

Look no further if you want the absolute best place to stay in Wildwood Crest! Clean, clean, clean! Kathy and Chris go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The pool is meticulously maintained and heated. The rooms are bright and fresh! You won’t be disappointed.

The best motel in all of Wildwood Crest!

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Mark I Motel. We usually go each summer, but we were nervous about traveling this year during the pandemic. However, our fears and anxiety went away when we arrived. 
The owners have always kept this hotel clean, but we could tell that they are taking even more precautions this year. The place was immaculate. There were also hand sanitizing stations for guests, which was a definite plus. The tables around the pool are set up in a way that you are more than 6 ft away from the next.  We felt safe the entire time. We were also able to get some work done remotely and were happy to say that there were no problems with the WiFi. We even saw another guest teaching a class on zoom from a table by the pool! 
As usual, we love the proximity to the beach and the nice walk we always take to the bayside to watch the beautiful sunsets! The kids were excited that we were able to walk to a bike rental place a few blocks over. 
Although we were nervous about traveling now, we knew our family could really use a vacation after being stuck in the house, social distancing for so long. We really felt comfortable on this vacation. It was hard to come back home and get back into the swing of things here. Now we are just dreaming of when we could go back!!

A great (and safe) stay!

Our 5th year FD Convention stay at the Mark 1 was, as always, one of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Owners Chris and Kathy have a dedication to their business and treat their guests in a manner that is second to none and our families look forward to this stay with them all year long!

Still the best motel on the island!

We have been staying here for years and we are never disappointed, situated close to the beach on a quieter part of the island. It's always perfect and Chris and Kathy are always so helpful if we ever need anything.

Our Yearly Vacation Spot

My family and I have been staying at the Mark 1 Motel for over 20 years! We love it there. The rooms are clean and spacious and the owners are super friendly and will fix any issues that may arise, which is a rare occurrence. The cleaning staff  that work there are great and they have been working there for many years which is a testament to Chris and Kathy, the owners, as wonderful, caring and fair employers. It's only a couple of miles to Morey's Pier and I love to walk to it every morning when I stay here. As I said in my title it's mere steps from the beach, there is only one other motel that is in front of it which is on the beach. They have a nice big pool in the center of the motel which I have a hard time getting my son out of every night! They not only have regular motel rooms with small refrigerators in them, they have efficiency rooms and one bedroom apartments within the motel. It's perfect for larger families and people that like to cook all their meals like we do. There is also a beach house which is behind the motel that can be rented. Mark 1 is like home away from home for my family and me.

Steps from the Beach!

My husband and I usually rent condos for a week in the Crest, but the place we usually rent was booked by the time we got our act together to make plans. We decided to stay at the Mark 1 based on other reviews and we are so happy we did. The Mark 1 is one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed in. The owners are very friendly and are available at all times. The location is amazing. You are half a block from the beach and the motel has a heated pool. They have several types of rooms to choose from. I would suggest the smallest room for just a couple because it is cramped. There were 4 of us in the room (daughters 9 and 14) and the beds are full-sized. We are already looking forward to visiting again next year.

Pleasantly surprised

We've been coming to the Mark 1 ever since I've been a child.  The Mark 1 provides a great South Jersey experience, with easy access to the beach and a great pool.  Its always clean, and the property owners are always there in case there is something that needs to be attended to during your stay.
