Visited in April 2024. The gated entry into the property is impressive — a  long brick drive lined with royal palms. Check-in was very quick. We stayed in C Building, which is not oceanfront but only a three minute walk through the property which features two very clean pools and beautifully manicured grounds. In fact, this property has a great overall look, in contrast to some of the surrounding properties which somehow have an industrial/commercial office building appearance. Our unit was C307. It was super clean and very spacious. Be sure to look carefully at the photos of the units online, as they do vary and are dependent upon each unit’s owner to keep them updated.  
Property amenities include tennis courts (two of which are clay) and pickle ball courts, two pools, barbecue grills, complimentary chairs/loungers, and umbrellas (for $20/day). You sign up at the tennis court gazebo for the tennis courts, and sign-up starts at 12:00 noon the day before the day you want to play. Complimentary tennis racquets/balls are available at the office. Live music Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 near the beachside pool. 
As for the beach itself, not much needs to be said about it here — the sand and water are pretty much legendary and rightfully so. 
The staff was very friendly and efficient during all of our encounters. 
Note that there have been some negative reviews recently about this property, mostly centering around problems with loud music/groups. We did not experience any similar problems, although we were not staying during the prime Spring Break season. 
To sum it up, this is an outstanding, well-run property that we would absolutely return to.

An Outstanding, Pristine Oceanfront Property

Seriously ?    Nearly $500 a night to stay here and they don’t have enough beach chairs ?   We’ve stayed here for years and until now have never had a reason to question the management of SSRQ.  No excuse….sent somebody to Walmart to get more chairs.  As of 9:30 this morning, all chairs were gone.

Beautifully maintained property, exceptionally clean and a location that can’t be beat . Siesta beach is an incredible natural marvel with white sand so fine feels like flour. Our unit was beautifully renovated with an amazing view from the 8th floor Tower building.

Beautiful beach town

We have been coming on and off to Siesta Key for over 30 years. We have mainly stayed here at Sarasota Surf and Racquet. We stayed here second week in August and mind you I'm hispanic and live in Miami and the last thing I want to hear is obnoxious loud spanish music, well there were like three large groups of people specifically one group that had their loud music playing the entire 4 days that I was there. They hijacked the larger pool with this loud music and in my 30 plus years of staying at the Surf and Racquet never saw this in my life. Please do something about this. I understand there are clear rules about loud music, but obviously at least the days that I was there no one was enforcing it. Mind you I don't mind a little mix of music here and there but they had a boom box that you would hear from the beach. This is not going to stop me from going again, but I hope someone takes a note of this and enforces it, because it was out of control. I rated it very good, because I love Surf and Racquet and the weather was amazing and overall had a great time minus the loud obnoxious people and their music.

Surf and Racquet 2023 Mini Vacay Experience

I have been coming here, to this resort for  40 years.  Until 2020 I loved bringing my kids, but since then it has not been family friendly.  I’ve tried many different times between Memorial Day and Labor Day and it’s been the same, large groups of 14-16 year olds drinking and taking over.  They have parties in rooms, which I assume their parents have rented because I saw two moms corn out of one yesterday trying to clean up after a party the night before, and play loud club music everywhere they go.  They literal walk around with it playing.  If it was a smaller group I’d get over it, but it’s like 20 plus kids and more than one group.  To make matters worse, management and security do nothing when they are made aware of it.  If I wanted a club scene or to pretend I’m in a reality TV show, this would be the resort for me, but I want a family beach vacation, and this is not the place to come.

Great if you want to pretend you’re in Ibiza or Miami.

Sarasota surf and racquet club is a great place very clean a little higher price but the beach is what you’re paying for here. We stayed in C104 beds in condo was comfortable. This was our second time

Sarasota surf racquet club is amazing place

We have stayed at this resort since 1987. Loved this resort. The condos are wonderful ( We stayed in the C building  unit 207 ) and Chris was our host the beginning of June 2023 .   It was exactly what we had hoped for. Very clean and comfortable and just a short walk to the beach. We will definitely come back and stay. The staff in the office were friendly and very helpful. Could not have asked for a better time. Thanks 😊 

Summer vacation with my daughter and 2 grandkids.

Beach was awesome silky sand .. easy to walk and enjoy so many birds . The condo was 2 bedrooms 2 baths . Extremely clean very comfortable set up to feel like home . Came with linens and more then enough towels even replaced them once during a 3 night stay . Grills by the Beach you can reserve and enjoy a beautiful sunset . 
  Gym was also well kept and clean . Pool was clean and lots of chairs . Easy to get chairs on the Beach staff would bring them to you and you could rent umbrellas and upgraded chairs with cushions and built in umbrella’s

Beautiful Beach wonderful condo

We just returned home from our third winter at Sarasota Surf and Raquet!! After being home for a week I wished we were back in Florida. Our stay always starts with the extra friendly and attentive staff in the main office. Between Carolyn, Kerry, Erin and Anna we were always made to feel welcome every time we stopped in. Our condo was spotless. And the view was incredible!! Anyone who came to visit us always had the same comment. “This is like a resort’. And they’re right! From the tennis and pickle ball courts, to the two pools, barbeques, gym, and finally the incredible beach!! One of the best things about SSR, is that lounge chairs for the beach are included. And Tuesday evenings down by the bbq are fantastic. The management hires a gentleman to play music while the sun sets in the background. They also provide a yoga class twice a week, and tennis lessons, along with a daily round robin on the pickle ball courts. It seems like there’s always something to do. After being there for three winters now, we feel that we’re part of the SSR family. I would highly, highly recommend SSR!!

Winter 2023

We had a wonderful experience at the Sarasota Surf and Racquet. The unit was clean and comfortable and only steps from the greatest beach in the country. We stayed in unit Y105 if looking for the perfect location. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. If you are looking for the perfect beach vaca this is a must. Can’t wait to rebook !!
