I went to Pharr for a family reunion and we initially only had one night reserved. The staff MADE US FEEL SO WELCOME, we decided to extend our stay! The location is very practical, being close to all the shops. We were PERSONALLY GREETED BY THE OWNER, and very well taken care of by Mr. Ernesto working in reception. The facilities, as well as the amenities (pool, gym,outdoor terrace, grill, breakfast, internet,shampoo) offered were AMAZING! It was a real pleasure to stay there, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Thank you Travelodge for a wonderful stay, and I look forward to visiting you again!

Wifi was disappointing. Only worked in lobby and staff had to log us in every time.
Staff person who checked us in had no knowledge of Wyndham Rewards and said "we do not do that here" even though a sign was on the desk! Manager straightened it out the next day.
Accomodations were good for the price. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Where do I get started? So I was in the Mcallen area for my sons Allstar showcase football tournament over the weekend. I checked in on Friday 2/17 and checked out on Sunday 2/19.  When I arrive (@midnight) I was greeted by a young gentleman at the front desk. I asked him what were the amenities in the rooms and his response was I don’t know. I stared at him surprised thinking it was probably his first day and well that was probably the issue. So I continued and asked if the rooms had microwaves and mini fridge, his response was yes. Then I asked him if they offered breakfast and he answered yes. I asked what was served for the breakfast and he said he did not now. He said he doesn’t usually work the shift he is on and that’s the reason. I asked him if it was continental breakfast and he said oh yeah I think that is what it is. I also asked if they took online reservations and his response of coarse was I don’t know. I asked him how long he had been working there and he said about 5 months. So I rented the two rooms and I gave him a little advice. I told him it didn’t matter what shift he worked or didn’t work, it is always important to now the amenities of the hotel and the breakfast. So I was assigned rooms 101 and 102 (they were right across from each other) which were perfect. We did although have issues in room 101. Room 101 A/C did not work. It was set on a temperature of 74 and you could not change any of the settings to adjust the temperature. Then the vent was full of popcorn kernels. So then the clerk moved us to room 116. Room 102 remote did not work but the clerk immediately replaced it. When I did go to speak to the clerk about the A/C to room 101, there was a female hanging all over the front desk counter drinking alcohol laughing away with the clerk. When I approached desk she remained there and I actually could not stand at the counter. I did pass by a few other times to remove items from my vehicle, and she continued to be there still drinking and then another man joined in (Unprofessional). Once I settled in the new room 116, I immediately noticed the coffee maker was in the restroom, talk about a sanitary issue; it should be placed on the small table in the room. There was no fridge or microwave like I was told. Room did have an iron and ironing board. The iron did not work though. Luckily I brought my own. The bed nearest to the window had large multiple black stains on the comforter; luckily I had my own blanket. The second bed had a medium brown stain on the white sheet: luckily I had no use for the second bed. The remote had no battery cover, so the batteries were constantly falling out and I had to reprogram the remote several times. Bed was comfortable! Next morning I sent my husband over the breakfast room with the kids, he calls me to go over. I go over and he explains that the coffee was extremely cold like if it had been sitting there for a while. One of the microwaves did not work either. The entire counter top looked dirty and toaster was full of crumbs looking to be there for a while. Now the milk and the orange juice are sitting in self-serving containers at room temperature. Talk about health hazard, milk should not sit out in room temperature for over 2 hours because it begins to grow bacteria and must be thrown out immediately (do not consume). Another guest walks in and asks clerk to make some fresh coffee. The clerk hesitates and tells her to look at the clock, breakfast is over at 9. Well she tells him it’s not 9 yet. So goes to get the coffee and says that there is only decaf so if she wants it or not. I doubt that’s all that was left. Options for breakfast, there wasn’t much.  That evening we return to our rooms and kids wanted to use the pool. On our way to the pool i see a gym which is a plus (if the equipment worked) which it didn’t. Then the pool area reeked of alcohol. There were 2 men sitting in the corner drinking heavily. Then there was a female non-guest with kids using the pool and before leaving entered the hallway and began to change in front of us.  Then they left through the exterior pool gate. My son stepped on a nail while inside the pool. To top it off a male figure brought in a female and was making an exchange with the drunken males (prostitution). The Jacuzzi does not work. Then I asked for towels and the front desk refused to give me some. Said the housekeepers were gone and storage was locked until the next day. I asked to speak to the manager, manager refused to speak to me but the clerk did finally get me towels from a room on the 3rd floor. This place has so much potential. There is no real manager to control staff because they do what they want like sleeping in the lobby with friends. I understand this is a budget hotel like someone mentioned in the reviews, but most of the problems here are due to management’s lack of discipline or manager does not now how to manage a hotel. location was perfect though. In all i was never able to speak to speak to the manager because there was always an excuse.

SHOULD NOT BE PART OF THE TRAVELODGE FRANCHISE!

No refrigerator in rooms. Wouldn't hand out towels for swimming pool.  Advised to use our room towels. My aunts room which we booked was full of bugs.

When we arrived in the room there was a bulb missing from a Iamp; no TV remote; dirty floor and a wall plug didn't work.  The rate they charged us in advance was above their advertised rate on a billboard in front of the hotel on the street.  Their desk clerks use English as a second language and some barely speak english.
This morning there was no decaf coffee at breakfast and the regular coffee was barely warm.  The desk clerk remade the coffee and it was thin as water...the third time it was OK.  Only bread offered with no butter...only margerine, and even that hadn't been put out...no bowls for cereal or plates for toast.  There's no ice to keep the milk or orange juice cold.  This was a very poor excuse for breakfast.
They have a hot tub that is cold.  When I asked the desk clerk why it wasn't heated he said it hasn't been heated since he was hired two months ago.  I asked how I could contact the owner of the franchise and I was told he can't give out that information, but the owner usually visits the property on Saturday afternoons.
There are many other hotels in Pharr/McAllen.  I won't be back here and I'll look to give the owner a piece of my mind on Saturday afternoon.  What a terrible place to stay.
