I recently stayed at the Kalama Hotel, and I’m pleased to report that it was a great experience. The check-in process was quick, the staff was friendly, and the town had charming shops and good restaurants. there is a nice walking path along the Columbia River and some little parks as well.

Every thing was ok

The hotel is the worst experience we have ever had. The room was dirty, people smoking right outside the door. Music playing loud after 10pm. We had to call the police to address the problem as there is no management available to handle the problem. I would not recommend at all

Worst experience ever

Aside from the room, the experience with the morning worker really ruined our stay. They had forgotten to supply two towels so I went to the office. They yelled at me twice, were very aggressive and hostile. It was bizarre. A "regular" occupant told us about staff drug problems and prostitution at the hotel. 
The hotel needs better beds, better pillows and better hospitality. 
We like to sleep cheap and the only other place in Kalama was almost $400. So I'll just pick a different town next time.

Verbally assaulted by a staff person

Check-in process was easy as I had stayed there four times before and was in the system.  The rooms are clean, basic and a good value for the price. The hotel is close to town and next door to the Columbia Inn restaurant and bar. They are in the process of remodeling and changing ownership from OYO to Kalama Hotel. As a result the remodel is on going. Areas needing attention are as follows: old fluorescent single tube light in the middle of the living room is inadequate and outdated. More modern lighting needs to be installed with table and bedside lamps. New pillows are long overdue. Current pillow foam has disintegrated and pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Bath towels, hand towels and wash rags all need to be replaced. Currently they are very thin, small and very scratchy. Bath towels are the size hand towels. The Kalama The black mold that's starting to grow on the ceiling of the shower area needs to be eliminated as well as drywall repair and paint. The subflooring in the bathroom needs to be replaced. When you step into the bathroom the floor creaks and moves.

Worst experience I have ever had while traveling. The manager was rude and told the counter person to get me out of there out. Had been there a week and needed to stay longer. He would not let me extend my stay. He could rent the  room for more money as he was full.
This is not a top of the line hotel. The beds are old and worn out. The bath rooms are a health hazard.

The motel room was very clean and had the basic necessities. It was a great value for the price. I would definitely stay here again. Our bed felt great, the people are super friendly and helpful. Cheers!

Great priced rates

I liked the room for the price. the bed was comfortable. there wasn't a lot in the room. just a microwave, a fridge, a table with a few chairs and a tv on the wall. Bathroom seemed to have recently been renovated.

Grate value for the price.

Was a little bit worried when we booked after reading reviews.. but was surprised by the room we got for the price. There was not a lot in the room but it was clean and had everything we needed. Our new favorite spot.

Wow....aweful. Not shuffle what was on the boxspring but it was not a mattress . Mattress-like substance! Furniture, tub, walls in bad shape. Yowls the size of handtowels thin, rough, and full of holes! 
Sheets were clean but the 2 pillows were so flat. Only lighting was a fluorescent fixture pictured below.

I have stayed for half this and had better amenities. We played on 'rock' .....cauggt a few winks...and left before morning.
Avoid ad all cost...online info is false and old. I will not stay at another if theseOYO dumps again. They seen to be. Bying up old properties but they are not making improvements...they rant even maintaining.

Question 2 star!

I was traveling on I 5 and made a reservation for that night.  I was unfamiliar with the area, so I called their reservation number, they had no idea where the hotel was except the street address, no idea what exit to take or what after hours check-in procedure was.  I arrived at the hotel around 11:15.  The only number I had was the New York number, so after 15 minutes of him trying to reach the hotel, he offer to give me the actual number for the hotel, no answer for me either.  He then offered to give me a reservation at their hotel down the highway, which I refused, luckily.  The OYO there had the same lock the doors up and provide no service of any type after 11PM.  It was obvious to me that OYO was just looking for another cancellation fee.  The corporate office has no idea about anything in the field.  

The property was scary and not very well lit, with huge potholes in the parking lot.  I will never book there again and would advise others to avoid them also,
