This was the worsst hotel that i have ever seen.   Very old and rundown.  the Room was clean, but everything else was terrible.   The bedsheets and towels were old and worn out.  Tje sink was closgged.  The decor was from 50 years ago.   Chairs were torn and dirty.  The Lady that runs the motel was so abrupt and rude and difficult,  Not friendly at all.  She should not be running a motel.  Overall, this was the scariest and worst property ever.  i only stayed overnght to go on a cruise, so it was okay.  but i would never stay more than one night.  Not suitable for any type of enjoyment or vacation.  Even for one night to arrive and go on my cruise, i would never stay here again.  i only stayed because i had already paid and was very tired, so went to bed and got up the nect mornng and went to my cruise ship.  Otherwise, i would have run away and gone somewhere else.   This motel is actually disgusting

This place was the only one we could find with room that had power the weekend after hurricane Beryl that wasnt super expensive. For the price it should have been a bit better but the property wasnt great and the parking limited. It was alright to sleep for one night. The staff was super friendly.

No paying looked like a ghetto and air conditioner had no plug everything was roasted out and looked like nothing has been serviced or replaced in 20 years

Honestly was scared to stay with the look of the hotel, the single parking space couldnt fit our van and the building was uninviting to put it politely. No refund on the same day so had to just take the hit and book elsewhere for peace of mind. It is the best price i could find and would rather have stayed in the car.

No good

This business should not be an offer in Hotels.com! Hotels.com should be ashamed of having this hotel listed on their website! It was Grossss! Curtains hanging off the rods and nasty spots on the matress pad that looked like blood or feces.

Nasty

Could see outside thru the wall. Was hot as all get out. The TV couldn't even be plugged in. I wouldn't suggest staying here.  Definitely not worth what we paid for. Don't waste your time nor money. And it stinks like mold. 

Horrible

Absolutely terrible. I booked for two nights and arrived to check in at 3 pm and was greeted by a girl who said the owner had the keys and was not there so I said I would go to the beach and come back. I came back at 5 pm and she said the owner was still not there so she called the owner on her cell phone and gave me her cell phone to talk to her. The lady picked up saying she was out of town and I couldn’t check in although I already paid then told me well we don’t do refunds and you can’t cancel then cussed me out. Absolutely insane and then the girl told me there was no hot water. This place needs to be shut down and I will be calling the city health department and osha. Gross motel even more gross owner

THE MOST VILE MOTEL

My experience was not a good one. When I arrived Friday (around 4:40 P.M.) to check in there was no one at the office. I tried calling but got no answer. The second attempt someone answered and said they would meet me at check in. 
After waiting several minutes, the woman who was assisting me told me she would need a 25 dollar deposit paid in cash only. I thought it was kind of strange that she only would accept cash, but wanted to check in so I went ahead and gave her the money.
When me and my fellow traveler got to #21, our room for the night, I could hear noise coming from inside. There were two smoke alarms and they were both sharply beeping every 2 minutes or so. I called the property owner (who had checked me in) and told her what was going on. She said that she would send her maintenance man to check it out. 
About 10 minutes later, she arrived and looked at the smoke alarms. I explained to her that I’m a light sleeper and wouldn’t be able to sleep with the alarms going off every 2 minutes. After attempting to disconnect them, she was unable to, due to the fact the alarms were connected too securely. Throughout the time she was trying to resolve this issue, she was rude and unpleasant (acting as if we were inconveniencing her). 
After being unable to stop the incessant beeping coming from the smoke alarms, she hastily said she would give me my money back. I said I would go down to their office  to get my refund (while my friend gathered our belongings). She rudely said, not until everything was gone from the room would she return the money.
After putting all our items in my car I went to meet her and she was not at the office where she told me to meet her. After a couple times of calling her (to no reply), I saw an older man with a walker. I asked him if he knew where she was and he very rudely pointed in the direction of one of the hotel rooms (wagging his head). Upon later speculation, I found out the man was the husband of the woman who checked me in.
After another call (and no answer), the woman finally appeared. She refunded my credit card, but refused to return my deposit. After telling her that I should get my deposit back as well, she berated me and became irritated (again). I told her I should get my money back because the room was not ready for guests, due to the fact that the smoke alarms kept beeping. She said that we had been in her room almost 30 minutes and for this reason she would keep my deposit. However, the reason we were in the room for that amount of time was that we were waiting on her to respond to our concern and then waiting on her to resolve it. Otherwise, we would have left much earlier. As I was not going to physically get my money back by taking it from her, I left the motel without my deposit. 
Throughout this ordeal, the older man was very rude and gave me (unprovoked) dirty looks every time I passed him by.

Angry Owners

Greeted by 3 cockroaches in the bathroom, room was damp smelling if we had not already paid we would have moved out.
Water pressure for a shower was v weak.
Room did have a cranky air conditioner in the window.

One night visit for Moody Gardens

My husband and I stayed here for one evening during the third week of April the night before we left on the cruise that would serve as our honeymoon. We are planners, which is why we booked our room several months in advance. The morning after our wedding ceremony we head out on our 9+ hour drive only to realize we may miss check-in by a few short minutes. I called and spoke to the woman there who explained that a late check in would allow us until 9 pm to get there, which would have been perfect were it not for construction zones and car wrecks. We manage to slide in just a few minutes before 9 pm and the woman emerged from a room, shouting that she had no room and making a shoo-ing motion with her arms. I explained that we had reserved a room, to which she snapped that they only hold rooms until 7 pm. When I told her I had talked to her on the phone earlier she seemed hesitant, and explained that they had "no good rooms left" before heading into reception. While I was outraged, we were exhausted and just wanted to lie down so we got checked in and were given the key to the sketchiest room I have ever or will ever stay in. The photos speak for themselves, but I was unable to catch a picture of the whopping 3 inch cockroach on the wall in the middle of the night, the one I accidentally illuminated with my phone light while looking for something I had dropped. I checked for bedbugs and found no trace and we didn't see a single other insect before or after, but when we tried to kill it the monster fled. If you're ever in or around room 13 beware, I think I heard it threatening us on the way out. The sheets were clean and the sad, thin towels were fresh. Oh, and if you're worried about your feet hurting after a long, treacherous journey this room is perfect for you because it doesn't have those pesky "stable" hard floors - it comes equipped with super comfy vinyl flooring over some of the softest, coziest floors you will ever set foot on. You can't go more than a foot in any direction without sinking a little bit. 
The peaceful sounds of Galveston nightlife coupled with the symphony emitted from the A/C that sometimes worked lulled us to sleep countless times throughout the night, where we would dream of the Cheech and Chong movie the TV claimed it was displaying, but would not for some reason.

It'll make a funny story one day I'm sure, but for now 1/10.
