Well located as it's a short walk into town to find the restaurants and lake.   The cabins were roomy and clean with everything you could need.   The hot tub was close, clean and easy to use.   The lady who manages these cabins clearly works incredibly hard to make sure everything runs smoothly and she is very friendly.

My family and I stayed here while skiing in Granby.  The price was less expensive than any other lodging in the area.  Hosts were amazing, and the cabin was spacious and comfortable enough for us and our teenagers as it has 2 pull out sofas.  The only issue was that it was January and the heat wasn't turned up in the cabin until we arrived, so it was absolutely freezing, especially the floors.

Awesome night! Loved the place and location. We stayed for just one night, and it was convenient to get up early and head to rmnp. I thought price was fair, our cabin(especially bathroom) was small but customer service was outstanding! I would stay here again for sure! Thank you!

Great night

These little cabins don't look like much on the outside...but do not pass by.  We are happy our family stayed here.  We are a family of 4.  There was 1 bed and two pull out sofas.  Yes, it was small inside...but we weren't there to stay in the cabin...we were there to explore the area.  It had a full kitchen and dining table and tiny but functional bathroom with shower.  We got a reasonable rate when we were there and our stay was nice.  The first night we were there we had noisy neighbors (noisy after quiet hours) but it didn't seem to last too long.  The next night after they left, it was super quiet.  So, I guess you just have to hope you get decent neighbors.

Tiny cabin, nice stay

I love this place! My husband and I are picky. We've stayed at Spirit and Grand Rapids lodge. In this town hotels are way overpriced. You do not get what you pay for. So, I decided to give the Bear cabin a go just because of the price and space. We loved it! The new owners have really put a lot onto making the stay feel like home.  It's right next to the market and you can walk to town. There's nothing worse than staying in some cramped overpriced room. These cabins are awesome. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. Will always stay here on trips to Grand Lake.

Best deal ever!

Great fun.  Clean place and we were able to bring our pup. So much to do and see. Gayle and kirk were very helpful and fun.  Plenty of space in the moose.  Weather was beautiful and sunny then gorgeous snow!

Great town,  great getaway

You can walk everywhere from Columbine Cabins. The owners are very accommodating and just great people. The cabin was clean and plenty of room. This location accepts pets.  The kitchen is well stocked. Bring shampoo and body wash. They do give you bar soap. Also, there is coffee and filters!  Enjoy your stay 

Great place to stay

When you thinks of Columbine Cabins, think of Motel 6 or Super 8 room quality.  
Our cabin appeared to have furniture from the '40's and the bed was a bit "canoey".  The bathroom door opened into the bedroom and literally hit the bed after opening about 2 feet.  
The bathroom itself as so small my rear end was touching the sink when I stood to  go #1 in the toilet.  The shower was so small I needed to turn the water off to scrub myself and then turn it back on to rinse.  All this luxury (not) at $140/night?!

The best part of the room/cabin was the location--just at the end of town with a grocery right next door--and if you wanted to cook--you had all you needed for that.  The proprietor seemed very pleasant but let's just say there are many places to stay in or near Grand Lake that are much nicer...

P.S.  The TV was mounted up high and about a 14 inch flat-screen...
P.P.S.  The one time we tried to change out our towels we were unable to reach the proprietor...

This place has seen better days!

We booked the Bear cabin for 1 night for 5 people.  There is a full kitchen, a dining area, and 2 pull out couches, as well as a porch with chairs.  The bedding was quite dated, but honestly I found it charming, others may disagree.  The hot tub was nice to soak in after a long drive, and the owners had a fire going in the fire pit when we came back from dinner in town.  They sat with us and chatted for a while, you can really tell they are passionate about this place.  One thing I was obsessed with was the hummingbirds at this property they are literally everywhere and you can hear them chirping around.  I loved watching them.  My mom loved this place to so much that she plans to book it for a longer period for a family get together.

Fun Owners, Home-y feel.

We booked the room online through a third party. When we checked in, the owner/operator was shocked at how much we paid for the large "lodge" above the main office. It was a great deal - she was VERY surprised and somewhat angry at how cheaply we were able to book it, which we found strange.
The rental we had been given was spacious beyond expectations. High ceilings, two bedrooms, big kitchen and open floor great room. There is a very steep staircase to get to the rental we had.
Clearly, the people who purchased these cabins (the owner mentioned it was last year) are still working on some things, while others are in great shape. The beds in the bedrooms are awful. Loud mattress pads and squeaky frames made it difficult to sleep. However, the couches in the great room were excellent. Our daughter slept OK on the bed in her room, but my husband and I ended up on the couches. We were only there for one night. The window coverings are new, but the bedspreads are old (what you would find at grandma's cabin). The linens were new. So, the worst part was the beds. The kitchen was fully stocked for any meal. There was a huge front deck, but the proximity to the main thoroughfare made it loud to sit out there. For the price, it was not bad, overall, and probably will get better as they continue to work out some things.
