Pleasant stay view overlooking golf course with ducks!

Good value

What a lovely place to celebrate my auntys 80th birthday. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the organisation of it.  We would like to say a special Thankyou to Liam who was our host on the night who was very polite, pleasant and  helped in whatever way possible. He was a wonderful host. The food was lovely and plentiful. 
I would highly recommend calderfields for special events. We’ve had several there and never been disappointed. 
Thankyou to all the staff.

80th birthday party

Well what can I say apart from what a fantastic afternoon we had for my aunts birthday at calderfields for afternoon tea, she was very surprised bless her, food was beautiful tea coffee and of course Prosecco out this world fantastic selection of cakes and sandwiches with the most beautiful views of the golf course, and served by the most loveliest young man who was so polite and very attentive to our needs he couldn't do enough for us 

We hope to return very soon but just wanted to thank you all for today please pass on our compliments to the young man can't remember his name  but he's an absolute credit to the calderfields team

Afternoon tea out of this world

Have dined here several times before and was not impressed on this occasion. Our table was set for three more people than booked for – extra chairs and table settings were not good. Tables were literally crammed in – it was necessary to walk side-ways past other tables/diners, to get back to the table, with a plate full of food- not a good experience. Long queues for the carvery, snaking back into the only free space in the restaurant. Turkey portion was small, Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets and stuffing balls were rationed to one per diner (I didn’t want any of these, but this policy came across as ‘penny pinching’). Mash looked awful, a big gloopy, grey mess. Plenty of choice of vegetables, but some were overdone (and I like my vegetables cooked, not crunchy). Gravy was exceptionally thick. So disappointing – felt like tables/diners were being wedged in. There were clearly insufficient waiting staff. Also shocked to discover that tips are not passed on to staff if paying by card (which is mandatory) – luckily we found this out before we made the card payment and found some cash for the tip.

Party of 14. We were never saw a member of staff the whole time we were at the table . Nobody asked if we wanted starters or drinks or asked if we  were ready to go for the Carvery.  The Carvery itself was poor . There was only the scrag ends of meat and veg left . The gravy wasn't refilled and only the onion was left . Which I could of spread over my meal . We had to ask to order deserts and then chase them up .

Poor visit

Went for the carvery Sunday lunch but unfortunately we thought it was dreadful. Only positive I can think of was the food was warm. 
We were at late sitting and told there was only turkey left. Yorkies were clearly frozen, just a really unpleasant experience! No way would I return

Carvery

Food is always beautiful & such a friendly chef serving! Only downside is I think they are slightly understaffed - I have found myself waiting for drinks, deserts etc quite a few times that I have visited. But the food is always 10/10 which is the reason we always return

Delicious Sunday dinner

Booked this venue for my husbands wake. Paid for everything in advance. Very disappointed in the staff attitude the day prior to the event. Poor communication with the ‘event planner’. Arrived to a room with glasses of welcome drink lined up on a table and no one serving them to 100 guests which was contrary to what I was promised. Dessert special request didn’t arrive until most of the guests had left. Event planner didn’t communicate with me at all on the day of the wake. Items which were for display were just dumped on a table. Buffet was mainly beige.

No follow up whatsoever to ask if we were satisfied with the event. I wouldn’t use this venue again. 

Would not recommend 

Friends daughter attended a prom here, informed school who informed venue she was Coeliac, however all they had was salad!   Her friends ate and she had a sorbet!  

Absolutely shocking in this day and age, the chef couldn’t have sorted food out for her.  

No gluten free food, just sorbet for a prom dinner!

Stayed for three , 2 day visit will working in area . Lodges was clean and descant. Restaurant was very good . Not overpriced, good menu staff very friendly and helpful. Surroundings very peaceful and good for walk around course. Would stay again
