Positives:
The bathroom was modern and clean. The beds were comfortable, clean and smelled nice. The breakfast was delicious.
Negatives:
The bedrooms are in dire need of an upgrade. Very dated and worn. Personal items were stored in a trunk in our room (paperwork and clothing). And the "please do not take me" stickers were unnecessary and actually quite irritating. I removed 9 stickers altogether from our room. 

August stay

Didn't stay at the guest house but visited the attached cafe. My daughter(5) was desperate for the toilet so we pulled over seeing this cafe open. We went in and the lady behind the counter said "can I help you". I asked if my daughter could use the toilet to which she replied it is for paying guests only. I explained that she was desperate for a poo but she just looked at me. I asked if we could use the toilet if I bought some drinks from the fridge and again she just looked at me so I started to walk towards the toilet. As I guided my children towards the toilet ( my 6 yr old son was also with me) she sneered "well make sure you do". Due to this complete lack of hospitality towards a child and unnecessary rudeness I will never visit any part of this business again. Horrible attitude and made my children feel very uneasy.

Rude and inhospitable 

Spent 2 nights here as we were attending a wedding in the area. We were part of a very large party and had several rooms. Everyone in the party had nothing but praise for the accommodation. From the minute you set foot inside you are made to feel very welcome. The rooms are spotlessly clean, have all the amenities you need and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is an excellent offering and cooked to order with pastries, cereal, fruit and yoghurt also on hand. Vegan and vegetarian options were also available. We found the staff to be very friendly and courteous and Nemia is just full of smiles. Nothing is/was too much trouble. Yes you can hear some noise from the other rooms and the floors creak a bit but in my opinion that is a minor point. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place for the money in the area. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Excellent guest house. Convenient for everything, very central in Glenridding and very clean. Nemia's friendliness and hospitality were just wonderful, so helpful. Comfortable beds/rooms with great breakfasts too. Thank you! I'll be back.

Excellent, central guest house!

Rooms spotlessly clean with all the amenities you need. Hot showers and a quiet location. Breakfast delicious, cafe is lovely and cosy. Highly recommend the vegetarian sausage - yum! Nothing too much trouble, our children were welcomed and enjoyed their stay. Would recommend.

A lovely stay

Excellent value for money Nemi is Excellent hostess , staff Excellent guest house spotlessly clean will be going back nothing too much trouble owner went out of her way to make sure we had everything we required thumbs up for the emergency Gin 👍 

Fairlight guest house exceeded all expectations 

My partner and I stayed here at Fairlight guest house for two nights and on first glance it looked and felt ok but basic. Staff were friendly and the breakfast were nice and very ample, what we weren’t happy about is there was no heating for two days it had broke n down  we had to find staff, which they gave us a small electric heater from their own living room.  The noise of other guests above on the first floor walking around early hours of the morning felt like they were almost in our room especially when the toilets were used/flushed several times and using the wash basin several times also sounded like our room was  been flooded. The wood lice in the shower was a surprise too. But we weren’t offered a reduction in price.

Good night sleep not

I went here as a last minute stay while exploring the lovely town of Glenridding. The price was right, the location is down the hill from a cozy little pub. The staff were great. The room was large, extremely comfortable, and exceeded expecations. The complimentary hot breakfast was fantastic. This hotel is probably the best value for money I have ever stayed at. 

One last note. I left a small painting I had purchased at an art show in Glenridding. The hotel not only saved it for me, but also went through the trouble of sending it to me (of course I paid for the costs of doing so). They were incredibly helpful and kept me informed along the way. 

Seriously, top notch hotel and staff. Cant wait to return. 

Greatly Exceeded Expectations

Very comfortable b n b with really clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Breakfast served in a bright and airy dining room with efficient staff. Walking distance to the lake and amenities with free parking made for a simple hassle free weekend.

Pleasant stay

Just left. Heavenly cappuccino, scrumptious baps and perfect tea. Cozy surroundings. Eventually left (completely and utterly contented) after the owners ensured we were well fed and looked after. No American drivel whatsoever (as Andy rudely suggested). Oh, and all served by beautiful, charming staff who proffered the most perfect manners. What an idyllic and quintessential experience. We were thoroughly honoured to be entertained by this marvellous establishment.
