I called to book a room, the answered the phone "yeah" I said is this the hotel as it was if  had called the wrong number. "yeah" again was the reply. I thought he is obviously having a bad day and gave the benefit of the doubt. I asked for availability on Tuesday 4th for one night. When i said ideally up high overlooking the car park, he said "why"! I said to keep an eye of my car, which i did not think was an unreasonable request! He said "no book somewhere else please", and muttered i am pretty sure an expletive as he hung up on me. Extremely rude and unprofessional, it said call direct for best rates, i am glad i did otherwise i would have proceeded to book with Booking.com and had no doubt a terrible in the flesh experience with this aggressive individual. I assume this is the rude owner Kevin as surely nobody would employ staff this rude? Avid at all costs based on my experience trying to book. Ive since seen some other review about him and the rude attitude so check out all reviews first, before booking would be my advice.

Contacted Kevin Travis to enquire about a room for a day, instead of a night .. as I am working nights at the local hospital. I explained my shifts and asked to check in at 9am and check out at 7pm … he agreed but declined a reduced rate.  This is fine.  Doesn’t hurt to ask, as a student - nice to try. 
I said great, just checked that you’d honour this as I’m just about to book your hotel on Booking.com 

Then received the response 
“find somewhere else to stay then” 

Just no need at all, after we’d already agreed times and rates .

So rude! Just really not necessary

Arrived to a fairly frosty reception from a guy I think was the owner although he didn't introduce himself ,liked his own voice 
Stayed on the 3rd storey ,quiet enough with the main road outside 
Wasn't made to feel as though we could relax in the rooms downstairs as it just didn't feel comfortable so stayed in our room 
79 quid with no chance of paying extra for  brekkie too 🤔
The shower was either freezing or like lava 
Stayed in worse ....but there are better

The hotel was spotless - comfy beds with a perfect host who was very helpful and kind especially when we overslept!!!
Loved the decor which was stunning.. the tea and coffee facilities were great and a supermarket just 5 minutes walk. 
The surrounding area was historic and so interesting - just so sorry we didn’t have time to explore. Very convenient for trains to London. 
Would definitely visit again and recommend to others …,

A beautiful hotel

A great hotel with a fabulous host. A very short 1 night stay, the room was spotless, with a very comfy bed and parking at the rear of the hotel, and great value for money. There are plenty of amenities close by. I would certainly stay again and would recommend it to friends.

Reasonably priced close to local shops 
Has good free WiFi's and bar and food 


spacious, comfortable and clean double room with every facility you could expect at a budget price. Proprietor Kevin a friendly host, parking available. Tv channels limited, but an excellent free wifi to stream other channels to your device. Good basic accommodation,  quiet location despite being on a main road.

one night stay

Stayed here overnight between events. The hotel is an old style hotel and that night was quite empty. 
I don’t see why; i paid £35 for a single room en-suite and I think that this is great value.
This is a great crash pad after a gig or party, not great to bring the wife and family. It is a little rough around the edges (no grout in some of the bathroom tiles, blown double glazing, etc) but for the price it should be encouraged.

The right way to do cheap

Good value for price paid. I'm never sure what the moaning brigade expect!   Very handy location for Saltaire and near to local shops.  Bonus of onsite parking.  The owner was welcoming and appeared to be a pleasant man. I slept like a log in a comfortable bed. Steep stairs to top floor rooms so be aware if you do have mobility issues.

Cheap and Cheerful

Although the hotel is on a main road my room was at the back and very quiet, clean and comfortable. Kevin the owner is a nice hospitable host! The station is handy, just 10 minutes down the hill, and the bus comes past the door.
