Unexpected overnight stay. Owners very helpful and communicative. Room very well planned and comfortable. Tea and coffee in room, tv, proper cotton bedding. Good internet. 
Spotlessly clean. Instant hot water and excellent shower. 
Tasty varied breakfast and good coffee. 
Lovely surroundings. Super countryside haven. 
Highly recommend - and a big thank you for a relaxing stay.

Perfect rescue haven!!

Just got back from a two night stay at Colston Hall Bed and Breakfast and had a great experience.
This was our first experience of a B&B and we weren’t disappointed.
The house is 16th century with lots of character low ceilings and narrow stairs and a very unique feel about it. The room we stayed in was the Little Maids room and we were extremely comfortable, it doesn’t have a shower but does have a bath which made a nice change for us.
So much choice for breakfast, cereals  fruit, and a home cooked breakfast if required which was lovely. We will definitely stay here again so that we can explore the Suffolk countryside. 

Great stay in this unique B&B

Wonderful place, owners made us both feel very welcome, beds very comfy, room cosy. Room well catered for all needs 
Breakfast excellent, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore this lovely area of Suffolk.  

Lovely b and b

Found this as a last minute B&B during a Suffolk road trip. Great service from booking through to breakfast. Comfortable and clean we stayed in the Squires Room - narrow and steep stairs to the room but ok for us. Friendly service and a good breakfast, 10/10 would recommend and would return.

Cool stay at Colston Hall

Stayed for 2 nights recently. Very comfortable and an excellent breakfast. John and Liz made us very welcome and did everything they could do to make sure we were safe during the pandemic. They do not service the room during your stay but provide plenty of towels,coffee etc. A brilliant idea. Tables in the dining room for breakfast are very well spread out and each table has it’s own toaster. Another excellent idea. We would certainly stay here again.

Excellent stay

Could not fault this place!
Clean and covid careful. 
Perfect location to have days out but then come back to peace and quiet.
Everything we needed in our room including a powerful shower and lovely soft towels.
Add to that a tasty breakfast with everything we wanted and you have a great stay at a good price.
We will be back

Nothing but good to say

We had an amazing room , complete with 4poster bed . Breakfast was very good , each table had a toaster , no risk of covid 19 !! 
The location was lovely , very peaceful , no traffic noise .
Strongly recommended this place .

Absolutely great

A special reminiscent family trip to Suffolk, our family county for generations,acompanied with the two youngest Grandsons who were SO excited to have their own delightful room with a TV !!! We were all very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent in the pretty dining room, thank you for a memorable visit, highly recommended..

Wonderful

My wife and I stayed 4 wonderful nights in the Squires Room,  We found it very clean and charming. The 4 poster bed was very comfortable and the en suite bathroom had a large shower with plenty of hot water.  The location was very quiet and had plenty of parking space.  Liz and John were both very friendly and attentive and the level of service exceeded our expectations.  Breakfast included plenty of choice - fruit, cereals and any variant of a traditional 'full English' - all served with great efficiency. The comment by another reviewer that there was no choice of eggs is completely wrong.  Whilst we were there, we heard other guests request alternatives to fried eggs and they were promptly supplied without any problem at all.  Perhaps they forgot to ask !!!

Our only slight problem was that we booked via Booking.com who made a mess of taking payment.  This was sorted very efficiently by Liz.  In future, we will simply book direct with Colston Hall.

Excellent 4 night stay

We were visiting the area for my relatives funeral. We decided to make an overnight stay to avoid the heat and the traffic on the notorious A14. This location was just perfect. We were met by our host Liz and little Elliot and shown to our lovely cool room - The Loose Box. We would normally share a double but under the circumstances a twin was more comfortable due to the heat!
After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast served in a nice dining room and served by John the husband of Liz. We wanted for nothing, everything even the home made marmalade was excellent. We were very grateful for the kind offer should we have needed to use the very attractive lounge. There were plenty of information on the area available both in our room and in the house. A large map on the wall was also useful. Certainly recommend this B&B for quality, comfort and affordability.
