I took my granddaughter on leave from Uni to a pub/ restaurant. Our first time there, my grandaughter is fussy whats she eats and ordered a cheese macaroni, with garlic bread? even I enjoyed the bread too much for one person I ordered fish and chips, the fish could have done with a couple of more minutes to crisp up the batter, but have to say it was cod and tested delicious. Staff warm and friendly, seeing the carvery I suspect judging by the size of food on customers' plates it looked delicious. I will certainly use again when visiting the area.

Great village pub, super food in the evening and a good breakfast. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Room a little dated but clean and functional. I was in Room 3 at the back and the wifi could not quite reach all the time.
Overall a good place and nice people, would call again.

Good Points - nice welcome , had a nice evening meal , and breakfast , the bed was comfy,and all linen and towels clean, bar area nice and quaint , and dining area bright and decorated in a nice local pub fashion. and warm

Bad Points -  the areas that lead to the rooms , looks like it has suffered a leak, and smells damp, and carpet is very dirty. 
 But the room i was in No 5  was very poor , carpet is dirty , and the layout is poor ,toilet has carpet and the shower cubicle goes straight onto the carpet , so my be why the room smells a bit damp . it had not been dusted for some time ,everything had a layer of dust on it,  the carpet had not been hoovered for god knows how long, the paint is peeling off the ceiling , skirting , as is the wall paper. , such a shame that the room is so bad , i cant speak for the other rooms , if it would have not been quite late , and was only for the night , i would have not stayed , and looked for another place

if they sort out the rooms / Entrance area , this place could be very good.

food was good , room not so good

Late booking led me to the Red lion. Nice country position but close to MK the staff welcomed me and a great chat and good real ale pint was a great start. The rooms area set to the side of the hotel and in a block of 3 no double rooms with bathrooms. The good sized room was tidy with nice clean linen and towels and bed quite comfortable with TV and tea and coffee so all the essential needs covered the view over lovely countryside is awesome and a early morning cuppa sitting in the sun looking at the wildlife was a great start to my day. Other reviews have said that a room modernisation is well overdue and is true and would be a wise investment as the actual room structure is a real asset. As is said the room looked reasonably clean but I dropped something off the bedside table and while picking the item up I found many months of debris and dirt behind the bed and bedside tables and this would have given the fairer sex a fit so attention to this area would be advisable. I did have  a pleasant stay.

Good value and beautiful view

We didn't fancy cooking but didn't want to go somewhere too pricey. We went here... it's a traditional village pub but with rooms (so an inn, rather than a pub I guess). Staff were friendly. Food is standard pub-grub (I suspect much is bought in, not freshly made on site). But it's OK. Decent enough mixed grill and (according to the missus) 'very tasty' ribs. Wine is reasonably priced.

Overall, we spent £50 for two two-course meals with a bottle of wine and a beer. Nice place, nice people and reasonable food. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot. We will return at some point.
