My family booked lunch for me as a surprise for Mother's Day- I was intrigued because although it's a beautiful, iconic building (if you're from Newcastle), I had never actually eaten there. The décor is really nice inside, it felt like a chic 1920s film (in a good way). Lunch was lovely- the staff were also great making accommodations for one of our party that needed to eat quickly to take medication. They also managed that tricky balance of being attentive without being OTT, which is an achievement when it is a busy occasion. I have to say I'll definitely return, I actually can't believe I have lived in Newcastle 43 years and not tried it- especially because I'm such a scone fanatic!
