After receiving my travel zoo paperwork for the headway hotel I turned up on Valentines weekend to find that the headway Had closedown tried to contact travel zoo and they were close for the weekend very bad was not informed of this happening apparently it closed at Christmas and we weren’t informed

Headway Hotel closed down

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night break at the Headway Hotel. Lots of reviewers mention that the hotel is somewhat dated and that is true. However, it's clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are excellent. The location is perfect for a walk into Morecambe or a bus trip to Lancaster/Carnforth.
What really makes staying here special are the staff. They simply couldn't be any friendlier or more helpful. Every one of them excels in their customer care and it's a joy to stay with them. Hope to be back next spring.

Second break at the Headway this year. Still excellent.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of September on a Travel Zoo deal which was exceptional value. On the plus side the staff were all friendly and helpful, the evening meal was fine and the bar service was fine. The room was clean but very dated and in need of refurbishment. The main areas of concern was the poor breakfast service and quality which resulted in a complaint from us. The other issue was the squeaky floors as you could hear every movement in and just outside the room.

Bargain break in an adequate hotel

Although the hotel is dated I found it very comfortable with attentive staff, The place was well cleaned and the food was good with breakfast buffet and dinner service with ample choices. Bar area and good old fashioned wooden dance floor.
Lovely scenic setting and about 20 minutes walk to centre of Morecombe or on a bus route.

Very satified

Me and 3 friends had a lovely break at this hotel,amazing staff who went the extra mile for everyone,food was great and plentiful,rooms were spotless and ideally situated at the sea,great value for 5day break from Caledonian travel 16th sept__ 20th sept,thanks to Nikki for loan of wheelchair and to all the staff thank you, hope to see you all again x

Great hotel

We have just returned from a one night stay at the hotel. All staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was a bit dated, but very clean. Evening meal was nice and service was very good. Drinks in the bar were very reasonable, and served by a very professional and friendly barman. We will definately return, but for a much longer break.

Very nice and friendly

I would say this hotel is really for people who have retired and wish to get away for the holidays I wouldn't say this is for young ones not a lot to do it needs updating through out the hotel I think once this has been done it will look amazing food and service is brilliant staff warm welcoming and very helpful entertainment does need looking at not that good in my opinion rooms nice and spacious housekeeping done every day not many shops about you need to venture further out for shopping but overall nice hotel to stay at if your only staying for a week.

Holiday Trip

12 in our party no rooms to get we all in 12 cases left on coach would not mind but people coming after we also people who booked after we given keys to room spent over 2 hours trying to sort it out told could not be taken home or refund this hotel is about to close we was not told this when we booked hotel manager not to be seen and informed he often over booked hotel would be very careful of booking this hotel

We stayed for one night - 
The staff are very helpful and friendly. 

The evening entertainment was poor, They would have been best showing the Liverpool - Spurs game instead. 

Wifi is only availible in communal areas

Rooms - The bed was uncomfortable. Rooms dated, Poor shower pressure.
Floor boards creaked.

The lift was not working. We was offered a second floor twin instead. We decided to take the 3rd floor double.

Breakfast a Vegan breakfast was requested. This never appeared. Instead Mushrooms. Hashbrowns was offered.

The staff make this hotel for what it is. However we would not return.

Dated

We were a party of 6, on a 'special offer' 2-night break and we had a great time. Dinner was included on the deal for the first night and the food was excellent - so much so that we booked in for dinner for our second night too. Breakfast is buffet-style, but you can order kippers, poached and scrambled eggs (rather than fried) via the waitress. You certainly won't leave here hungry! We had 3 good rooms, very spacious and we all slept well. The staff are all exceptionally nice and friendly - lots of smiles from everyone we encountered. During our stay, the lift was out of commission and the stairs are terribly steep, so worth checking it's back in operation if you're thinking of booking soon. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor, so that's a lot of steps to climb if your room is up on the 3rd floor. We certainly noticed that some older guests were having problems getting about. Other than that, a great place to stay for a short break. You can walk into the town centre in under half an hour, or catch a bus just along the road. We really enjoyed our stay.
