Second time staying here. We really enjoyed Sunday lunch and would most certainly recommend it. 
Monthly quiz on the Sunday to raise money for the local food bank and this is supported by a lot of locals. 
Thanks to all the staff for another lovely stay.

Lovely stay

A lovely welcoming pub. Staff were very friendly and provided a great service. The food was top notch. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with good facilities. It's great value for money and will definitely return and can certainly recommend.

Great place to eat and stay

We went for lunch on Saturday . Highly recommend . Friendly staff , excellent service and food was excellent . We all had sandwiches which were delicious with loads of fresh salad . Lovely open fire and the pub had an enjoyable ambience . Good choice of larger meals . We will be back soon .

Superb experience and excellent value for money

Very out dated, paper thin walls as we did make a noise in the night and got shouted at to shut up, my partner used the F word
When we left the landlord came at me (a female stood on her own) and he was awful to me belittled me in front of his staff and was very aggressive and shouted but he didn't speak to my partner about any issues. Told ME I wasn’t allowed there again and I was banned 😂
Had a curfew on the bedroom at night had to be in before midnight. A lady who was drinking that night fell in the fire place where I helped her up and was again made to feel awkward 
The bedrooms small wood chip on the walls very small bathrooms could only just fit in the shower
The only good point was the bedroom was very clean 
Feel sorry for his female staff how he talks to females as he spoke to me like he did 
Without the ban I wouldn’t step back in the place 

Never Again 

Lovely break, great little pub. We stayed for 2 nights, all the staff were so welcoming. The landlady and landlord are great. Karen is a brilliant cook everything we ate was beautifully prepared (Steve your soup was great too!). 
Have to say though Karen and Steve work bloody hard and put the hours in to make this place as good as it is. Thank you both for a lovely little time in Ludlow.

Great little pub

Never stayed here but have always enjoyed a drink until this weekend.  I have always found it to be a dog friendly pub and although there are no signs at all to say that dogs MUST be on a leash at all times myself and my partner were rudely told that our peaceful dog must be on a leash. The sane member of staff rudely moved a customer from a table where he was enjoying a drink as thete were two people who had ordered food. Bearing in mind the table was not reserved and the area to the left of the pub was empty we foynd this an odd request. There were no free tables for the gentleman to sit at so we welcomed him at ours but having worked in customer service for over 30 years most of it in the restaurant business I found it incredibly rude. Following our visit I made a phone call to the manager who was incredibly unapologetic about the experience we had accounted and was unwillingly to take my views on board. An incredible shame as this pub has always been a friendly welcoming one until the new management took over and as a result we won't be revisiting.
 

Not impressed

Great place to stay. Warm welcome, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. No parking on site but that's to be expected in an old town like Ludlow. The hosts are very friendly and they serve some interesting beers.

Enjoyed our overnight stay, would come again.

Well done to Angie and everyone at the Wheatsheaf. Loving the Old Thumper and good to see such an extensive menu. I can recommend the steak to anyone who asks.  Keep it up. Lee & Angie and the two dogs

Not to brag, but we have been to alot of places ;) and this one comes to a top 3 definitely!!! Idyllic English Inn inside and outside! Cosy clean rooms, breakfast, pub downstairs, very good food and most of all amazing hosts!!! Loved every minute of our stay! 

HOPE TO BE BACK! LOVED IT!!!

A warm welcome awaited us from Karen & Steve, the new management, for our One night stay at this lovely traditional old Inn. There’s only a few rooms at the Inn & all were booked whilst we were there. We wish Karen & Steve every success in this new chapter, thanks
