My son and myself stayed at Earlsmere after watching our football team win at the KCOM Stadium. It is just off a main road but it was nice and quiet in a residential area. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and the staff and owners particularly helpful and friendly. Fresh milk provided on request for the tea/coffee facilities and the owner returned an article by post which we left in a room. Easy to book on their website and would definately recoomend this B & B if staying in Hull.

Ideal guesthouse close to KCOM Stadium

Huge rooms with comfy beds. Decor is a little dated but full of character. Lovely and clean.  Realy Friendly welcoming staff nothing was too much for them. and a great breakfast to boot. Really enjoyed our stay here. Fantastic value too. 

Fantastic value for money

This is a really nice Bed and Breakfast. Easy to book via email or website. Very nice and friendly owners and staff. Room was clean and very cosy, comfortable mattress (slept really well) and included water cooker to prepare tea or coffee and even a microwave and small fridge (en suite double room). Also has bus stop right at main street (1min walk) that goes directly to town and train station. Highly recommend this B&B if you stay in Hull!!

2 night stay

Arrived at the Earlsmere Guesthouse in Hull for a 4 night stay due to work purposes. Door was locked on arrival so pressed the bell and waited. Eventually approximately 6-8 minutes later after pressing the bell a second time, the door was answered by a lady who invited us in to the hall to fill out the necessary documentation. When we were asked for details of a credit card, I indicated that the room was already paid for. Her response was quite abrupt saying  "I did not ask you that!". After a short conversation and sorting the credit card situation, I offered to shake her hand. Her response was that she would have to dry her hands due to the massage oil that she had on her hands due to her being in the middle of giving a massage in the front room; Hence the reason for her delay in answering the door. We were then asked to complete a breakfast request questionnaire for the forthcoming morning.We were then allocated a room number and directed (not shown) to a room 2 flights of dark stairs up.
The room that greeted us was like something out of the 1970-80's. A double bed with what was probably the original matress with springs protruding, no topper, just a threadbare sheet. The above bed courtesy light not working,1 cheap nasty pillow each and a duvet that when inspected under its cover looked like it had not been off this bed since Noah was a lad.The headboard for this bed had been white in its day, but no longer. The second single bed stuck under the small window looking out over the adjacent street, was worse with its bottom sheet threadbare on its corners and luckily was not necessary for us to use as we didn't have children with us. The 'Ensuite' was constructed of tongue-in-groove pine to match the 'Retro' decor of the shabby red flowered patterned carpet, blue walls and grey/ green bed coverings. The bathroom furniture was so dated, however the sink filter had been lifted out to indicate it had been cleaned at some point. One light out of four worked and even though we did try the free wifi, that also didn't work.  We decided that this guesthouse was not for us and swapped over to the Travel Lodge, which was £6 per night more expensive but a far cry from the Earslmere. Several reviews indicated nice comfy beds and full of character, this must have been relations of the owners or folk who usually go camping in Grimsby for the weekend. Not recommended.
