Great Moulton

Two nights very comfortable. Specifically requested room with easy access shower and it was very good. Great breakfast, quiet and helpful. 
Would book again without hesitation. Very near an excellent pub with good food. Beautiful countryside around.

Excellent B & B

This place was not easy to locate in the Norfolk countryside but one would have expected relative peace and quiet. Unfortunately, the neighbour pub, while serving excellent food catered also for younger party prone elements who made a great noise in singing and frolicking until midnight. Not the best for guests wanting an early night.

On the plus side it was spotlessly clean and the hostess was utterly charming and personable. The breakfast were served promptly and of good quality and choice.

This place deserves a better rating but must sort out the noise issue wiith the neighbouring public house.

good hospitality but noisy experience and remote location

Stayed overnight for a wedding. A nice setting with a field and chickens to look out on. Lovely room with en-suite, large comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and friendly helpful host. All you could want really and good value too. Very happy.

Very pleasant one night stay.

We were given a very warm welcome from Ian & Lisa the owner. The room was clean and had all the facilities expected. The room was cleaned on a regular basic and there was ample supply of different teas and coffees as well as biscuits. Nothing was to much trouble and there was a good variety for breakfast from cereal to a cooked breakfast including gluten free.

Comfy & Clean rooms. Friendly owners. Nice breakfast. Home from home. 

Perfect location for Car Hero customers. Only 7 mins from race track. Nice pub just over the road. 
Not far from Long Statton and 30 mins from Norwich town and the shops.

Stayed for work and had an amazing stay

This is lovely place to stay, welcoming and well-run.
My room was compact but had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. It was very well-equipped with tea/coffee-making facilities (some lovely cookies), TV, ensuite shower/WC. Breakfast was fantastic. Evening meal in the pub across the road was fine. All in all I'd recommend this place and would stay there again. It's in a well tucked away location so great for a peaceful night, but my satnav struggled to find it!

A little gem

Stayed there on 29th June for one night. I'd already phoned them before booking to ask if they were bike friendly , lady said could leave it in lobby , wasn't really acceptable as a high value mtb, i explained that bike was immaculately clean and as i would be booking a double could i leave it to in the room, lady said yes ,so I booked a room. On arrival the lady was very polite and seemed like a nice lady. She showed me the room and gave me key , on taking my bike to my room , a man walked towards me , gave me such a filthy look , like i've not seen in many years (I must say as a man of colour i did ask myself if it was a colour thing , but after him starting on my friend i think he is just a really nasty person who doesn't know how to treat paying customers)   and said YOUR NOT TAKING THAT FILTHY BIKE IN THE ROOM , and that i had to leave it in lobby , i replied my bike is immaculate , and i phoned before booking and was told by his wife i could , which was end of the confrontation. I put bike in room and went to car to get bags , the man confronted me again saying his wife didn't say i could leave it in room , i replied i'm not a liar mate and was told don't call me mate , i replied if was told no would of been no hardship for me to go elsewhere as wasn't any cheaper there than elsewhere. Took my bags in and not long after got call from my friend who was outside to pick me up. Went outside and friend asked if the owner had just spoken to me , i said no why? He said because the owner had rushed over to my friend , and asked why he was in carpark , my friend said picking someone up , who the owner said , one of your guests he said , at which point the owner accused my friend of being rude and told him to get off of his property , at which point my friend of over 25 years whom i've never known to start on anyone , tells the owner what he thought of him and his attitude. I was a bit shocked by this , as the owner had put a damper on my stay there. On the Sunday morning at breakfast i asked the lady if her husband would be around , i was told he wouldn't be around. So i mentioned the phone conversation we had before i booked the room , and how polite and welcoming on arrival she was and how room was all good , but how it was all spoilt by her husband's extremely rude behaviour and attitude towards me , and his treatment of my friend , she apologised , but it didn't really mean much as damage already been done,  i said that obviously she knew how her husband was, she went silent ,and that was end of conversation. So to sum up , if you book a room there , if you don't meet the ladies husband you will have a good time , but if you're unfortunate enough to meet him the chances are he will spoil your stay. Personally i won't go back there 


Visit spoilt by one of owners.

stayed here 29/30 June.. single room, as an over night stop in a 36 hour/700 mile motorcycle journey. I booked, on the basis several things; firstly the reviews.. very very good. secondly the cost, £45 room only with en-suite... superb. and thirdly,  and probably the most important thing for me personally,  the secure motorcycle parking.. I've rarely seen this advertised and certainly not in my experience of the dozens of hotels and b and b that I've used in Norfolk over the years. for me, the secure motorcycle parking made it a no brainer.  it could've been twice the price, I'd have booked it. 

the room, was great, small but functional. the en suite was perfect. very clean and tidy. very fresh. out in the sticks, of the beaten track. no noise pollution.. really really nice.
 I met lisa at check in time just after 3pm, was given a key and told there was no curfew. great as I was there to visit family and may be late.

 here's where the "but" comes in. there's no secure motorcycle parking!! there's not even SAFE motorcycle parking!!! as you turn into the drive you're faced with deep, loose, yellow stone shingle! and it's a 90 degree turn into the drive.. so the front end just gives way.. you can't steer and the rear just wants create divots.. . now, I'm sure that SNGH will reply and say that they've had dozens of happy bike riders stay there, and I don't doubt it. but, for me, riding one of the heaviest bikes in production, Yamaha FJR1300AE @ 296kg plus 25kg of panniers and my own (cough, lol) 80 something kilos, it was a very very expensive accident waiting to happen. not to mention the possibility of being under the bike when it goes over, either whilst on it or whilst trying to manoeuvre the machine and your foot slips on the loose stone, and it did several times.. there is a small piece of hard stand,  just big enough for one car,  which I was initially offered, but upon return to SNGH at 22:40, the car had been moved so as to deny me access to the hard stand and note left in my room informing me that the car was needed first thing and could I not park there please.. reasonable?? yeah probably.. but.. why not park the car on the shingle and allow a biker a hard stand?? there were plenty of unused spaces.. so after 290 miles, 15 hours, riding in 30 degrees heat I end up spending a further half an hour trying to manoeuvre 300kg of motorbike on soft stone that has the consistency of beach sand, on my own in the middle of nowhere.. medical help is at least half an hour away in Norwich. if that bike had gone over and trapped my legs I'd have been in serious trouble. 

so,  in summary, establishment, room, price, location, brilliant.. I may even stay here again if the wife and I come down in the car..

the secure bike parking (see inc advertising from SNGH) Non existent..!!!
bike friendly environment...NO!!!
biker friendly staff ... NO!!!

Sorry, but as an experienced, advanced rider, ( RoPSA Gold) ex instructor,  I cannot recommend the establishment as a safe and secure, or friendly over night stop for motorcyclists.. 

as a lovely, quiet, off the beaten track stop for everything else, it's superb!!

oh, and if you come back late at night and the front door is locked, the key turns to the LEFT (anti-clock). do not ring the bell, coz you'll get some angry fella come bearing down on you like a bear with a sore head.. lol.. sorry about that.. 😉



excellent... but!!

Booked a friend in who came up from Brighton to take us out for a meal, a stay of 2 nights. She said it was fantastic. Not from the outside but the inside. Friendly staff very clean and excellent breakfast.
