I have stayed all over the World in over 35 different countries, and Marc, the owner, provided the WORST service I have ever experienced at any stay anywhere...Ever! Marc is a horrific person who couldn't care less about you, your experience, or your special events. DO NOT EVER stay here. We stayed here this Summer and he is a liar, fraudulent, belligerent and abusive. He turned our special event into a horrific experience. I saw that some people on here said he was accommodating, so maybe Marc treated us horribly at check in after he saw my wife was Asian? This is just a guess because why else would he treat guests so horribly from check-in all the way through the stay. Either way all I can say is he is a vile person who should not be in the hospitality industry. BTW, I have seen others who have also said they think he is racist, so I am not alone in this feeling.

Quarter Mile Serviced Apartments have Horrific service from Manager MARC! He is vile!

Everything looked completely different, was dirty and just disappointing. Food was old and the stuff were so rude for no reason! 
Treated a disabled family like trash, couldn't talk to anybody, worst customer service ever! 
We were hoping for nice vacation but instead got lots of disappointment and stress!

AVOID

We booked a  penthouse apartment in Edinburgh. We were met by a lovely woman who took us to the apartment at Simpson Loan. 
At first view the apartment looked really impressive.
But We were then told not to use the patio door too much as it was likely to jump off the rails. Also there was a cracked window. The apartment was approx 25 degs and was told the air con wasn’t working but there was a fan in the main bedroom. This room had a bed that was very uncomfortable Aand sagged badly in the centre. 
The downstairs bedrooms were so hot that my daughters makeup melted in the bag.
The kitchen area was of a good standard but a cracked cupboard door and two dirty cups in the cupboard made us very wary. Also there was food in the freezer left by previous tenants.
The view from the patio was amazing but we were very apprehensive when out there incase the door came off the rail.
Overall we had a good stay but not really sure if we would return.

Honest review

I would highly recommend these apartments. We stayed in a 2 bed executive apartment. It was gorgeous. Really spacious and plenty big enough for our family of 4. The views were spectacular. The kitchen was great and 2 bathrooms was amazing. A short distance walk into the city centre so really ideally located. Beautiful gardens with wild rabbits running about. 
A lift was great as we were on the 3rd floor.
A dishwasher and tea, coffee etc was a real bonus. 
Stay here if staying in Edinburgh - simple!

Fantastic Apartments

I booked & paid to stay at this apartment for 2 adults & 1 child for 2 nights. When I met the owner Marc outside he was extremely rude & instantly told me this apartment was not suitable for 3. I explained this is what I had booked with booking.com - he flew off the handle & said there was no room for us and I was to find elsewhere to stay.  I said I have paid in full and he said that was my problem & that I was not entitled to a refund.  After back & forth I said I would tell my partner not to come & since me & my 6 yr old son were already there that we would stay.  He did not accept this got aggressive again & stormed off stating it was my problem. He left me & my son stranded & Booking.com left me out of pocket, only refunding me of £17. The total apartment was £153 for the 2 nights and I didn’t get to set foot in the place. Stay well clear of this con artist. Robbed in front of my child which ended up a very upsetting experience.

Con Artist - owner is rude & aggressive

Had a really strange and worrying booking experience. Did not feel comfortable so chose to go elsewhere (forfeiting over £200).   I had booked for 2 nights. Asked f I could extend for another night via the booking site and was told to send my email address and they would invoice me directly. They didn't get back to me so I called to check the extra night was still possible. I didn't recognise the company name when I called so asked quite politely who I was speaking to. Manager answered me rather aggressively along the lines of "who am I speaking to," said in a condescending manner. This threw me a bit but I explained that I was looking for confirmation of a booking. He continued to speak to me rudely and agressively. I was in such a tizz by then that I told him I couldn't continue the call and would contact him by email.  I went downstairs to tell my husband. At this point he called me back. I told him to speak to my husband. My husband took the call but he continued with the rudeness/mild aggression. We had a bad feeling about things so cancelled.  Not sure what the issue is. I wouldn't feel comfortable going to these apartments. I see others have had similar issues.

Rude, Agressive Manager

Negative Review: The host Marc appears to be a Jekyll & Hyde character. From his many reviews he is capable of being a good host, however if you catch him on an bad day he can be the most vile and aggressive individual a person could meet. For a balanced view, please look at previous guest reviews across all of his property listings including Airbnb and google. They have a number of company names VIP apartments and Quartermile service apartments. They set up different company names to hide the trail of bad reviews. My bad experience was August 2020.

On the day of check-in I messaged Marc out of courtesy and as requested 0.5hr before check-in. Marc unfortunately missed all three messages, I therefore decided to call Marc 5 mins before check-in as I knew he would need time to get to the apartment. I was not looking to access the apartment early as I was happy to wait for him. Marc immediately asked why I had arrived 5 mins before check-in and became aggressive. When I questioned Marc's inappropriate guest welcome he told me to 'F#£@ off and find somewhere else to stay' and slammed the phone down.

I rang Airbnb to report the incident however while I was on the phone Marc turned up outside to apologise. Given the aggressive welcome I had received, I could not accept the keys to the property. At this point Marc flew into another rage and repeatedly called me ' a piece of s***'. He then asked me to move from outside the building which was a public right of way. When I refused he said he would forcibly throw me and my bags into the nearby road.

Fortunately for me, Airbnb were on the phone throughout the whole episode and overhead most of what transpired. Airbnb gave me a full refund, had they not been privy to the abuse, I may not have been so fortunate.

Aggressive and vile owner

The apartment was clean but pretty basically furnished.  The TV was Freeview only so quite limited. Unfortunately we found the host to be quite rude.  We got lost and telephoned for help but because he had many people checking in at the same time he was perhaps stressed, as we were.  I was told to stop texting or telephoning him because he didn't even know who I was!  When we did meet up I concede that I was rude to him also.

Disappointing

Wife booked this terrible apartment after reading reviews but definitely not according to the reviews. As I entered the room no tv working very cold in the apartment heating is very poor like it's been restricted and there is no maintenance people around but very loud boiler which is on all night very noisy during sleep. Staff only pass messages on apparently. Coffee Stains on carpet and moulds around bathroom it's a joke.. I have taken pictures to show you guys. These apartments are not clean. These guys still charged me 100 pound a night and left me without heating and tv that's how desperate they are for money, it's ok though my bank gave me it back. These apartments are not cosy at all you can feel the springs on the bed. Horrible sleep.... staff were not very helpful they went home after work trying avoid my problem in my room. After all it's really not worth your money.. we had this apartment booked for 3 night left after the first night and booked a hotel for rest of the stay absolutely better than this apartments.
Ps.. I would also like to add that the push button to release water in the bath tub was inoperateable condition so I couldn't even have a shower.
Also people can see in your apartment on the right, opposite, and left through your blinds. Not very private.

Terrible

They charge us 800 gbp for​ a tiny damage on the​ sofa that we didn't do​and we​ had no way to​ prove it​ ​because​the​ staff just charge​ our credit​card without asking​ as soon as​ we​ left Edinburgh.​ Also beware that​ the​ ​sofa​ is there to "sit" only.​ ​You cannot even lay over to watch the​ TV because it s there​ for​ the​ purpose of sitting, that​ s​ ​what I ve been told.​ All in All, not a​ very honest accomondation.
