Super hotel/bar and very friendly Value for money and superb breakfast Staff friendly and helpful Enjoyed our stay for the 3rd time. Location is excellent for Galloway forest. Parking easily found on street usually outside the enterance door.

This has to be one of the nicest friendliest warm welcoming pub in the country. ever time iv been in the hotel bar I meet friendly local people who are happy to chat over a drink with the real fire burning in the background. theres a beer garden out the back ideally on a sunny day to sit and chill with my dog. the staff and always keen to help offer a wealth of knowledge on local places to visit. live music played on some Saturday nights a real good vib. I cant wait to go back on holiday to gatehouse of fleet and visit the Bank of fleet Hotel.

We were staying at Cally Palace Hotel for a night, but, as they weren't showing the football, we decided to try our luck in town. This was the hotel we stepped in first .. and we didn't need to walk back out! 

As soon as we walked in, the barmaid turned on the football for us and asked us what we were drinking - perfect! We saw the bright lights of the Staropramen tap and the mad ourselves comfortable.

I can't find any faults with the bar area and they had also set up Covid rules throughout the building, which was comforting. The pints were reasonably priced, with plenty of choices, and the service was excellent. 

Popped in for lunch.Generous portions,lovely food.You certainly wouldn't leave here hungry.Very reasonably priced.Can't fault it,will certainly call again and will definitely recommend.Busy little place,obviously used by the local people,so that in itself is a recommendation.

As a local I used the Bank of Fleet every once in a while.  I was a regular visitor but after a couple of meals that were not up to normal standard I was not going as regularly.  Today 27/12/19, I could only give 100% across the board, meal, service, everything was just what we required.  I could not pick one meal that stood out as they all did and every one of our party of 15 was more than happy with what they had, staff were attentive but just to the correct level, not hovering or asking you how the meal was before we had, had a bite.  Kirsty and staff, thank you for providing a great afternoon.

Our stay this time was in a lovely clean room, though the mattress needs to be replaced as it was uncomfortable. Checked in but had to find our own way to our bedroom as we were just handed the key, there is a lot of stairs so not for anyone with a mobility problem.

Breakfast was plentiful, hot and very tasty , we had an evening meal while we were there and this was also fantastic.

Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you

Stayed on a special 3 night bed breakfast and evening meal deal. This represented exceptional value for money. The food was superb and plenty of it. OK the accommodation is not 5 star but you are not paying 5 star prices. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble and they made me feel welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to stop there again

If your looking for non pretentious good, hearty food this is the place for you. I come here often and you can't beat the massive potions, reasonable prices and friendly service! Highly recommended. As a pescatarian there is always plenty of choices which is quite unusual in Dumfries and Galloway!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but ate there one evening as we were camping nearby. On entering the pub we were a bit doubtful but we went through to a separate dining room at the back and our meal was superb. I can honestly say that my fish and chip supper was the best I’ve ever had and that’s saying something when you herald from Blackpool. The portions were plentiful and the service excellent. My advice to anyone is to ignore the slightly outdated decor and smell of cleaning products as you walk in and enjoy an unpretentious, tasty, home cooked meal that offers good value for money. 

I have stayed at the Bank of Fleet on three occasions . The staff are very friendly and helpful . The rooms can be a bit hit and miss but overall are fine for £35 per person with an amazing breakfast , great value .
