Conveniently situated B&B with a short flat walk to the shops, bars , Pavilion and Opera House.
Parking available onsite.
Dated and decoration a bit shabby but clean and was ok for an overnight stay .
Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was nicely cooked.

Overnight stay

All round excellent service.  Very pleasant manager and superb breakfast. Would certainly stay again. Very good position, with easy access to the theatre and opera house. Our room had  pleasant views across the park and lake, and although the weather was on the cold side the room was nice and warm.

Excellent service

Lovely day conveniently located across the park for all amenities. Great for a park run on a Saturday. The tastiest breakfast I’ve had I had to have it twice! 

Only downside the electric shower had no power at all - the very hard mattress. 

The hotel is comfortable cosy staff are friendly and the parking onsite is a bonus.

Lovely two night stay

My wife and I have visited Buxton a number of times over the years but never stayed for some reason in bottom Buxton. So glad we did this time and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay, convenient for all attractions and restaurants.
Hotel overlooking the park and we booked a room with lake view so really nice.
The room was large, well appointed with a full size bath that was much appreciated considering the cold and damp weather.
Breakfast fine and good quality,  served by Sharon who was so friendly and happy to have a bit of banter.
No problem checking in, gentleman was friendly and efficient.
Parking was also fine, lots of spaces and providing people parked sensibly no problem getting in or out. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, frankly if you have a problem here then I would suggest you are the one with issues. No hesitation to recommend and we will return when back in Buxton.

A lovely stay

room very poor plumbing very poor - manger really rude and parking a nightmare - dont complain TAKES NO NOTICE  - never going again despite many complaints never had any feed back not bothered as long as some people with low standards still go there

Hotel s not what it used to be.  Not as friendly,  Host is indifferent to the fact he has guests and does not use the usual pleasantries associated with hospitality.  Everything feels too much trouble.

Bathroom had no heating and only a hand pump hand/shower gel. No shampoo, etc.

Breakfast was very good.  Coffee was self service, so you got in other people’s way.

Bed was not very comfortable and could have done with a memory foam pad.  The wooden bed was propped up underneath by two pieces of wood, one of which had fallen away.

Towels were white and fluffy. Shower door didn’t roll to the side as it should.

Tea tray was fine, with tea, coffee and biscuits.

The room is only serviced if you hang a notice on the outside of the door.

Guests checking ut were not always bid farewell. Just a key drop box and out the door you go.

It seems that as long as you have paid for your stay, that’s all that matters.

Such a shame, as this could be a really competitive establishment but people may not return due to the impersonal service given.

Not our best stay in Buxton

Room, with lake view, very good.  Bathroom a little dated but perfectly serviceable.   Breakfast excellent.  Service, by Sharon, of the highest order - any request readily met with a smile.  Will stay again.

Good B an B hotel in great position.

This B&B is in an excellent location overlooking the park and a 10 minute walk to the many restaurants in the town centre. I had a large room overlooking the park, which cost extra but the room was larger than the room, which my friends had, which was a standard room. Good choice of cereal, fruit juice and a full english breakfast available every day. Tea / coffee making in room with refills always available in the hall downstairs. Room cleaned on a daily basis if requested. Car parking space at the B&B is limited and could be a problem if all rooms are taken and people park badly. 

Short Break

Very disappointing. The positive is the location after that everything becomes disappointing. The room we had is very old with a small and tired en-suite, shower over bath, very pokey. If you wanted a warm shower after a day of being out in the rain, not going to happen in the room we had. Absolutely no water pressure from the shower. The room was cold during the night as no independent heating in the room. Paul, who we assume is the owner is very transactional, displays little interest, in fact you get a warmer reception at a travel lodge. Breakfast was a positive and that along with the location are in my view the only positives to be found at this hotel. 

Very Disappointing - location a plus

Had a lovely 2 night stay in The Westminster, having been many years before. The owner was very welcoming even though we arrived later than we'd originally thought & was very helpful. The room was nice & we had a very comfortable stay & sleep. 

As others have said, the breakfast is great, just what you need before a day out. Afterwards, take a few minutes to stroll along the broad walk outside, or just sit and admire the view across the lake.

The hotel has parking which was full by the time we got there. No matter though, just park in Hartington Road which runs along the back, parallel to the Broad Walk.

Overall thoroughly recommended & a great base for trips into Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and the National Park etc.
