Stayed at Winter Dene while away with work - a private B&B instead of the usual chain hotels I stay in. It was an absolute gem. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed so comfy. The owners were super friendly and the breakfast….the best English breakfast I’ve had in ages. Piping hot instead of the lukewarm mediocre stuff you get in the chain hotels. I would definitely recommend.

A brilliant short business stay

Renzo &Heather couldn't do enough for you. Room was bright/breezy and spotlessly clean.
Full English &plus was excellent. Would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Hotel position is good for a walk to the town centre and beach, also local eateries as the hotel only does b&b.

My stay at Winter Dene

What a gem of a place. A proper B&B with lovely gardens and great hosts. It is spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed in a generously sized room and the most amazing breakfast to set you up for a great day!!
Winter Dene is well positioned for easy access to lots of sight seeing opportunities. The tourist Breezer bus stop is 100 yds away and also only a very short walk to amazingly clean beaches. We left our car in their car park and enjoyed being tourists. 
This place is a wonderful find and the owners Renzo and Heather give so much more of a personable  service. We will be returning for another short break.

A real gem of a place!

Wonderful stay in The Winter Dene Hotel. Friendly, welcoming and accommodating hosts and staff. Stayed in the family room which was lovely, clean and very spacious with lovely touches (toiletries, tea/coffee etc). Fantastic breakfast. Great location for access to beach and town centre. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Renzo and Heather.

Family weekend

We had room 12 which was a family room but we did see a lot of the other rooms and they are all really big the hotel was spotless  every day we went out and  when we got back the room had been serviced and restocked it is in walking distances of the beaches and amenities thank you for a lovely stay would highly recommend 

Lovely little place 

Just back from a weekend stay. Friendly hosts. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Excellent quality, freshly cooked breakfast. Short walk to town and beach. Parking good. Would recommend staying here.

Lovely hotel

3 nights short break in this very comfortable and welcoming guesthouse.  Very comfortable (and huge) bed, en-suite with a good quality shower.  Very nice breakfast too.  A warm, friendly welcome.  A most pleasant experience.  Thank you!

Short stay

We were an hour early for check-in but that was no problem at all as our room was ready, which allowed us to spend more time on the beach. Having a front door key as well as a room key was helpful as we were uncertain at what time we would be returning in the late evening. The room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage and hanging space (with hangers) and two compact shower rooms. The showers were a good pressure and temperature and the controls easy to use. Breakfast was by order card filled in the night before, and served in the compact conservatory area on the lower floor looking out over the garden. Everything came as per the card - even the brown sauce! Car parking was available for several cars outside the front of the property. Only 10-15 minutes walk from the pier, gardens, and shops, and close to the zigzag access steps for the beach.

Excellent for an overnight stay or longer

The management team and staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was huge and excellent! The beds were extremely comfortable. There was plenty of storage space in the room by way of a wardrobe (complete with safe) and two large sets of drawers. Parking is available on site with plenty of room to do a 3-point turn in a Volvo XC90. The hotel is in an excellent location for the beach and town centre.  Rooms were cleaned daily, and tea/coffee/condiments were topped up daily without us needing to ask (unlike many large hotel chains I could mention). We would definitely recommend the Winter Dene, and look forward to returning. My son was fascinated by the owner's mineral display cabinet...and was overjoyed to be given a big lump of quartz the following morning by the hotel manager.

A lovely hotel to stay in 

Stayed here for 4 nights recently and really enjoyed our stay. Arrived a few hours early and asked if we could leave our car in the car park and come back later but Renzo said our room was ready so we dropped our bags off before going for a walk until our daughters room was also ready. Our room was large and looked out the front of the hotel. Yes it was overlooking building work and a big crane but it did not spoil it for us - gave us something to look at and we never found it too noisy even with the windows open. The bed was king size, not used to that, only got a double at home and it seemed like my husband was miles away! The bedding was 100% cotton. Amazing! There was a safe, hairdryer and plenty of tea, coffee and also biscuits left everyday (if you want it cleaned). Nice touch. Bottles of water as well. The shower was really good too. Because of Covid we ordered our breakfast the day before and was served at the table. Don’t know if it’s still like that now.  Food was amazing. Fresh fruit or cereal, full English, eggs on toast, plenty of toast etc etc.  Location was handy. 5 minute walk to the beach. At the bottom of the cliff is a Harvester restaurant, toilets, cafe etc. From there you can walk along the front to Bournemouth pier in about 10-15 mins or the other way to Sandbanks in about an hour. There is a pretty garden with seats and a few sun beds but the weather wasn’t good enough to sit out there sadly.  This hotel would not be suitable for disabled or people who struggle with stairs.
