Caravan Really lovely! Right next to the sea perfect for sea fishing, comfy bed, felt very homely! Clubhouse was good fun! Phil behind the bar accommodated all our needs and was a good laugh , was dog friendly and he loved it! Steps right down onto the beach absolutely perfect

Lovely weekend away

Nice small park pet friendly staff are really friendly and can't do enough for u any problems they sort there and then will be returning at somepoint it was my dad's first holiday for a few years and even he enjoyed it lovely sea views and right near the beach which is lovely 

Nice holiday 

On arrival we struggled with parking ,then we were  greeted by the neighbours dog who kept coming in the caravan.When we were told the caravan was ready and cleaned , we found dirty cups and glasses, the grill still had bacon stuck to it and the saucepan still had dinner in it. We had no airer, frying pan or main utensils.Everyday our neighbours had more than 15 guests over to their caravan and the guests dog kept coming into our caravan and raided our bin.The toilet seat was broken and we had to keep reattaching it to the toilet ,this was never replaced. This was not helpful for the ladies or my disabled wife. The outside table we were told was for our caravan but other people were using it and then we were told anyone can use it. The fold out bed was full of coco pops so this was clearly not cleaned and the sheet was dirty. When we asked for clean bedding it still arrived dirty. The manager cleaned the bed up herself.On the night we arrived there was a wait of over an hour for food .The eating area is crammed into the entertainment area and bar, again lacking cleanliness. The tables had no number on them so staff didn't know who ordered what food. In general the staff were quite rude and unhelpful. The arcade was so out of date it could of been a museam. Sega rally from 1998 and one of the screens was pink. this area was quite small. we found it concerning that the caravan park allows anyone to park in there grounds to visit the beach so there is no parking for guests and the security cameras do not work,which we found not to be helpful with many people coming in and out of the park , and finding my car had been scratched 4 times next to our caravan which is now costing me to put right.My daughter booked this holiday for our wedding anniversary  which turned out to be quite stressful. We were offered a gesture of good will if we came back but we felt this was only a token gesture which didn't cover the cost of the repair.
On a positive note the beach was beautiful as well as the walks along it.We had a visit from some seals, and the local chinese was very nice. There was some nice walks through the countryside to numerous churches.


Not Great!!

Absolutely love this place 
Brought the in-laws and was perfect 
Rooms are super comfortable with fluffy towels and tea and coffee in your room 
There is bar and restaurant that does great food and such a friendly team 
Made us feel so welcome will definitely be returning maybe one day will pluck up the courage for karaoke x thank you x 

Great place to stay

We returned home from Castaways holiday Park today and after spending 7 beautiful days in Norfolk, i feel I have to give an honest review of Castaways Holiday Park, a Park that I have stayed at for many years growing up, We arrived early at approximately 12.30 hoping there was a small chance we could get into our caravan but this was definitely NOT the case, we were told the caravan was not ready and that we should NOT return back to the reception until 3pm as that was the check in time, we were made to feel quite uncomfortable for even asking, we knew what caravan we were in so we parked our car and waited on a small bench next to the van, we went back to the reception at 3pm and asked again for the keys, Again we was told to WAIT and now the van wouldn't be ready until 3.30pm, I was shocked and really couldn't believe that now we were being expected to wait past the check in time as the check in time was 3pm.... at 3.30pm the keys were dished out with a small A4 printed page giving details of the weeks entertainment. (Without Timings). when we entered our VAN we were shocked at the interior, 1, there wasn't even a sofa big enough for a family to sit on, 2, the TV was literally on a cabinet so low that it might as well be on the floor, 3, the TV Ariel was so short that if you moved the TV even half and inch it came out of the back of the TV,4,The curtain Rails in the caravan were all wonky and were not even put up straight, 5, the windows were filthy, we also needed to go out to Lathams in potter heigham to purchase new bed linen as we were not satisfied with the condition of the green ones waiting for us upon arrival……
I was very confused and let down as when I booked the caravan I was told it was a disability Caravan so it would be slightly bigger than usual and also that it had Patio doors facing the sea, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL, it literally had full length windows that couldn't even be opened meaning
ventilation was a huge issue.
Myself and my partner decided to speak to someone on
Sunday evening so we headed to the bar and was told
the person we needed to speak to was actually on stage singing, we waited and was eventually escorted
to the office where we were literally called liars and that the conversation had never taken place when the booking was made, the lady even checked our details without turning on the computer 🤔 ….... All i can say is it was Very PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR from the manager, after my encounter with this lady | checked the reviews online and can only say wished I checked them before I booked….... £850.00 to be called a liar and stay in a dirty Caravan on a dirty Caravan site, We went to the club house once and was served Red
wine in a glass that already had Lipstick on it, the tables
were dirty and the atmosphere was not enjoyable or relaxing at all,
The bin area was always overflowing and visible for everyone to see, which was quite disgusting.
We asked a member of staff for a new Ariel, the member of staff came to our caravan and stated he would come back with a new cable this never materialised, 🤦‍♂️
This used to be to an excellent Holiday park with a very customer friendly owner, this is definitely not the case now, 
We even popped into the caravan park down the road and when we stated where we were staying the reaction of the receptionist said everything!!!!

The only positive is that the beach is lovely,

NOT as good as before 

We have just come back from a lovely week at castaway’s , we had caravan 22 and firstly I must say although it was outside the reception and entrance to club house it was lovely and quiet . When we arrived we were met by Auntie Sue she was very welcoming and told us all we needed to know and gave me directions to the nearest Tesco . Caravan was clean and comfortable the beds were very clean and comfy . Caravan is well equipped for what you need whilst away . The bathroom was a lovely size unusually large for a caravan and shower was one of the best I have used whilst staying in a caravan . 
The clubhouse is very nice and welcoming we ate here on our first night it was very nice , price is a little expensive ,but no more than any other site I have stayed on . Great selection of alcoholic beverages , soft drinks and snacks . Very family friendly with many family activities through the week free children’s bingo and then adult bingo after very reasonable on price at £6 for 4 games and good prize money . Good groups and artists and fab quiz night was great family fun . 
Special thanks to Anna for taking the children trick or treating and organising caravan participation it was fab and children enjoyed it especially all the sweets they were given by guests .
The beach is beautiful clean and quiet if like hunting fossils this is the place for you , with great access from the site and if you are lucky you may see the seals .
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again in the future it is a jem of a caravan park , thank you to all the staff for making it a lovely stay from Donna, Howard , Rowan and Blaze the dog .

A Gem of a holiday park 

spent a week in a lovely lodge 10th sept-17th,so close to the beach ,comfortable very clean beds,food was great in the Inn on the site, the barman /chef Phil is a really nice friendly guy,we will go back again without doubt,thanks everyone at castaways for a lovely week, jeanne,gary, hayley and little maysie xx

everything

highs and lows re Castaway holiday park..first off, I will return .. The highs outweigh the lows..
HIGH..the area- quiet, peaceful and so close to the sea.Caravan well set out and placed, staff pleasant & friendly  
LOW- the caravan itself ,the soft furnishings were in dire need of a good clean. The bar and Inn food menu was  VERY expensive .There is no information re local shops and amenities inside the vans ..it was the last day before we realise there was an arcade and laundry on site.
Aside..i wish the Site had stipulated that there wouldn't be any toilet rolls, cleaning products or dishcloths etc..if they had then we wouldn't have had ot buy these at a premium rate on site or close by..
The front row of caravans is amazing ,the views outstanding..so overall the highs outweigh the lows BUT with a bit of adjustment this could be an amazing site..

wonderful aspect

Unfriendly staff . Was unable to use one door on our lodge when requested help do help given was told to get on with it. Dog poo was  left everywhere.  Not cleaned up. Dogs barking all night. Poor site shop. Main bar person Unfriendly had no idea of stock being sold he had to ask another customer about type of drink being sold to us. On our first day when requesting take away food  he threw note pad at me telling me to write down my own request.  Bins overflowing.A hoover was left in a bedroom full of dirt. Chipped glasses left in cupboard. A pool table in the bar area was left infront of door to disabled toilets.  Dishwasher was a nice surprise but unable to use properley because of no instructions to it. Bad smell from fridge had to throw food away. We were frightened to complain about things incase of police being called after reading previous reviews and the response when we asked for help with door.

Disappointed

Had wonderful stay here at Castaways, staff really friendly & helpful.
Site lovely and quiet & tidy.
Had lovely meals, even fussy kids cleared their plates.
Will definitely be back for another visit.😊
