I stayed for two nights whilst arranging customs clearance at Mersin Port. The Akdeniz Hotel is oppostie Mersin Otogar, however the location is quiet during night time. The reception staff made me feel very welcome. and both the room and linen were very clean. Breakfast buffet was typical of Turkish Hotels. This is not a a five star luxury Hotel, but a good honest get what you pay for place to stay. Whilst not in the centre of Mersin it is not to far or difficult to walk to both the centre and the park over looking the harbor, there are also plenty of taxis available close to the hotel.
