"Hey there! I just got back from Chemka Hot Springs, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. Imagine soaking in warm, crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush greenery—it's like stepping into a hidden paradise. The springs are tucked away in the middle of the savannah, so it feels like a secret spot just for you.

The water was perfect—warm and soothing, and you could see straight to the bottom because it's so clear. I spent some time just floating and taking in the peaceful surroundings. It’s not just about the water, though; the area is teeming with birdlife and the trees around create a cool, shady spot, perfect for a picnic.

It’s a bit off the beaten path, which makes it feel even more special. I’d recommend bringing some snacks and water because there aren’t many facilities around, but that’s part of the charm. If you’re looking for a relaxing day trip where you can unwind and connect with nature, Chemka Hot Springs should definitely be on your list!"

An awesome place for a fun and serene day trip. I visited in May and only expected to spend an hour or two here but it was so amazing I stayed all day. It is quite a drive from Moshi (approximately 1.5 hours. Entrance was 10,000 per person and you can also rent floaty devices for 5000 or 10000. 

There are stalls outside where you can buy a drink, swimming gear snd sometimes food (although the food places were closed on the day I visited). The locals who live in the surrounding village are around to chat but also act as teachers and lifeguards helping those of us who can’t swim to get in and out and float safely. The guys were so lovely. The water was warm and clear and you could see right to the bottom.

There is also a rope swing and a pool where you can let the Doctor fish nibble at your feet. As the day ended we saw catfish, turtles, and monkeys in the tree. The site closes at around 6/7pm but it was a very soft closing with the locals letting us know we could stay longer but they we’re waiting for us. To stay overnight and camp there are some extra charges. Also be aware that no food is  allowed inside but you can buy a drink and eat in some of the places by the entrance. 

A perfect spot to escape for a day tour. The water is spacious and very tempting to swim, the  weather is also tropical and perfect for swimming sessions. The beautiful surroundings and the warmth of the water may act as a therapy session. It is truly a beautiful place. The food offered is amazing and very tasty.

This is terrific place to be in Tanzania. Even if you are not a very good swimmer you can just dip your feet into the crystal clear water and let the small fish eat the dead skin off your feet. The stunning surroundings  and the beautiful palm trees hanging over the  pristine waters are just part of the reason why you should be here.  The water is actually not hot but has the perfect temperature to warm your body.   I believe this is a perfect paradise for anyone who wants to have a relaxing day after climbing kilimanjaro or after a long safari. 
 
 

Went here after our trip up Kilimanjaro, what an amazing place. A place where I will never ever forget, laid back on a palm tree enjoying a nice cold Tusker next to the spring! I would recommend this place to anyone I know! This is a must visit if you’re in the area! 

I  was in Chemka which is located in few km from Moshi,  l did a day trip and was so nice. l enjoyed the trip and the entry fee was so economical. water itself was so clean and i enjoyed its cleanses and d quality

This is an excellent life joint to visit. The water isn't hot at all, it's so clear and has some current to it. It's just a little oasis with little fish that enjoy eating dead skin off your feet, and very clear water with a cave system that leads to Kilimanjaro. To get there, you definitely need an SUV. The road is very bad and sometimes flooded. There is also an entrance fee, so make sure to have enough cash with you. 

You don't really need a tour guide to get you there. I was able to drive on my own using downloaded offline Google Maps. It's very accurate. Depending on traffic, It's about 1hr and 30 min from Arusha. Drive passed KIA (Kilimanjaro International Airport) to a small town called Boma la Ngombe, make a right and you will drive for several Kilometers to this little beautiful place. 

This is a must do in Tanzania. My brother could not swim in mafia but he swam here and now I do not feel nearly as bad for him. We arrived early and there were no people but it still never got busy. There was a rope to swing into the water with and after 6 hours of that I still wanted to do more. This is probably one of the best things to do in Tanzania if you are a child. It is also lovely for aduLt’s as there are lots of pools and only 1 has a swing. This is also amazing scenery where there are palm trees hanging over the clear blue tranquil. The water is at about the perfect temperature warmed by a natural hot spring. There are small fish that will eat the dead skin on your feet and monkeys climbing on the palms arcing over the dark blue water. The fish will tickles first but add a bit more to this incredible scenery. There are restaurants on the edge of the water and you can have your meal on the edge of this incredible body of water. There are dragonflies and butterflies racing with g ace over the glistening water. I think this is an amazing paradise for kids as you can swing into the water swim and if you stay still have your feet nibbled wich I had trouble doing as it was a constant Choice between swinging and discovering another pool to swim in but after a long effort managed to stay still long enough to get my feet nibbled. This is something that you have to do in Moshi!!!!!!

I really enjoyed my day trip, starting with the drive.  You get in to different land from the nearby cities of Moshi  and Arusha, through smaller towns, farmland, and quaint villages. Yes it is bumpy, but it is also full of lush greenery from banana trees to yucca cactus, desert flowers and, further in, the majestic baobab.  On the way back, we were greeted by hundreds of schoolchildren...the cutest sight ever and quite unique to this part of the world. 

The spring is a natural space with makeshift plastic seating and wooden benches. They have bomas for dressing.  

The water is pure, clear, tepid - not warm or hot. I would recommend that you go on a hotter day, otherwise the air will feel cold.  There is a tree swing and food available.  Fresh salads, bbq, chips (fries), a chips and egg dish that is local...and more. The fish will nibble and freak a lot of people out.  If you ease in to it, you can enjoy exfoliation.

I also liked the mix of locals and chill tourists. I would go back again. 

We visited these hot springs with African Love Birds Adventure. It is located 2 hours drive outside of Moshi and it is a beautiful place for a relaxing day out swimming. Little fish nibble at your feet when you first get in but as long as you keep moving they eventually leave you alone. There is a rope swing from the trees so you can have fun jumping into the refreshing water. There is also a bbq/cafe area selling hot food and cold drinks. There is even a massage/spa area if you feel like treating yourself. Baboons and little squirrels jump from the trees. It is definitely a lovely day out and a must if visiting Moshi!
