This was my first trip to Taiwan specially for scuba diving and since I have stepped into the dive village I felt good. Staff was very polite, professional and helpful. Room was clean as every place including bathroom etc if you travel you know that this is not always the case and in my case I have spent one night in place not so good so was happy to find Dive Village. Diving was grwat, the guides were so cool and especially I like diving with Howard and Jeniffer as they were experienced slow divers and always found so many interesting things to see. The diving spots are great and I liked the variety of corals as well as tuttles, cuttlefish, puffer fish just to mention the biggest ones I saw. Overall the dive center is amazing, well orgajizec, supplied and run.

Diving trip to Taiwan

(中文在後半段) For diving: 3 different coaches who escorted and guided me during my diving trip were wonderful. They were friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, and patiently (and politely) provided me with very useful tips to help me improve my diving skills between dives. The dives I had were not rushed at all like the folks from the rest of dive shops. Diving experience with this one was terrific. The only thing that I do not like was the way they (and all the rest of the local dive shops I know in that area) to transport divers to the shore on a pickup truck. That was surely not very comfortable.
For lodging: the room I stayed was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff was very supportive and friendly. And the location was very convenient if you are not a big night market fan. 7-11 is right across from the street and local bus stops are just around the corner. It was very quiet in the night as there was not much traffic after 9pm. 4 washing machine available free of charge but no dryer. There is no decent restaurant nearby. You either have convenient store meal across from the street or take 20-minute walk south to Nan-Wan (South Bay). Also, there were no slippers provided in the room.
先說潛水: 我的證照不是在潛莊拿的, 我也不認識他們任何一個人。在這四次潛水活動中, 我分別接觸到三位教練 (薔薔, 大雄, 及阿丹)。他們真是無可挑剔的讚。客氣, 有耐心 (因為我很菜), 整個潛程讓人感到完全沒有壓力。在下潛前會把 BC 充飽, 在海面上休息一段時間把呼吸調好再下去。回程也一樣。教練除了在潛水的過程中會以手勢來告訴我們要怎麼做得更好之後, 在轉換潛點的休息時間, 也會告訴我們他們在剛才水下所觀察到的缺失及改進的技巧。在軟珊瑚區, 還拉著我們一樣一樣看那些我們沒發現的海中生物。讓我在每一次潛回來, 都感覺收獲滿滿。唯一的缺點就是他們的防寒衣及套鞋實在是磨損得有點舊。雖然不影響功能, 但很多都褪色了也有明顯的傷痕。
住宿方面我非常滿意: 房間打掃得超乾淨, 洗水檯上連個水痕都沒有, TOTO衛浴, 日立變頻空調, 大電視, 空間也大, 價錢十分合理。小七就在斜對面。又好停車。晚上也很安靜(我住的時候不是旺季)。有免費的洗衣機可用但沒烘乾機。唯一不方便的, 是附近沒什麼像樣的餐廳。最近的應該是在一兩公里外的南灣或四公里外的恆春。還有, 房間裡沒有拖鞋 (可能是這裡的人無論到哪裡都穿著夾腳拖, 所以大概根本不會想到有人會沒拖鞋)

Very Pleasant Experience

Googled to find a place where pets are welcome, this place came up. Went to the front desk, they told me pets are welcome. About an hour after we went to sleep, a staff member knocked on my door to tell me there had been a mistake, my pets were not welcome. Then he said they were not going to kick me out but my dogs had to be quiet, clean and not sleep on any bed. I agreed. He also told me they would be inspecting my room before I was allowed to leave in the morning, and I would be charged for any problems. I was so upset I had trouble sleeping and could not wait for 6 a.m. to leave.

Very disappointing indeed

After returning to this place, I have to say: things have changed, and not to the good.
GOOD:
·	Washing machine at request.
·	shared Taxi from Kaohsiung was good. 400,- oneway.
NEUTRAL:
·	still no breakfast.
BAD:
·	The room was clean with hot shower, shampoo/soap/toothbrush amenities, tea/coffee facilities, free wifi, AC, safe, TV(>50 channels), water dispenser at the groundfloor. The rooms at groundfloor smell very bad, like mildew. I had to change to the upper floor.
·	Staff looks bored and just help what they must do.
·	The divemasters are very young now and not that experienced like before.
·	Equipment is between old and some new. Some tanks smelled from oil.
·	the divesites are okay, but seemed to be less fish. No sharks or Mantas.
CONCLUSIONS:
·	Coming back? HENGCHUN: YES; HOTEL: NO.

TAIWAN-DIVEVILLAGE

Basic accommodations but really great and flexible dive staff! They were able to quickly put together a boat dive for five divers with less than 12 hours' notice! 

Rooms are large and clean - really great pricing relative to the other hotels located on Kenting main strip, and not more than 10 mins away from the strip either. 

I got the impression most of the dives they do here are shore - boat dives are harder to schedule - but they're really willing to work with you. The boat we ended up using was really nice as well! If I'm back here again for diving, will use this operation for sure :)

Great Dive Hotel!

I've been to Dive Village to take both my OW and AOW courses. One of the instructors was stellar and he was highly passionate about diving. He answered all my questions and went above and beyond to make sure that my experience was fun and stress-free as possible. I also frequently heard from other staff members comment that he's incredibly thorough and professional and takes his job as an instructor very seriously. Unfortunately, he won't be there for much longer. Otherwise, I'd continue to take more classes there with him.

The rest of the instructors, while friendly and encouraging, had some rather off-putting habits. If you don't appreciate the fragrance of lit cigarettes, avoid this place. Beyond the lobby, the foyer, and the rooms themselves, there is not a place that is smoke free. Both guests and instructors will smoke anywhere and everywhere and there is simply no escape.

The room was clean and comfortable. There's no breakfast, but coupons are provided and a quick jaunt around the corner and down the street you can some local breakfast. However, at later hours in the evening, particularly after staff are off-duty, guests will be inconsiderate, drag furniture around and have late and loud night splashes in the pool, which is especially unpleasant when you have an 8 o'clock class the next morning. If you like peace and quiet, this may not be the place for you.
