We chose this lovely BnB as it has such a lovely view of the Lake of Brienz. To top it all off, you have the mountain train up to the Rothorn passing by which is always interesting to watch. Within a few minutes you are at the train/bus/boat station. We stayed 5 nights in the small studio on the ground floor of the historic house "Spycher". We could do our own cooking and enjoy the view. We also had a sheltered table outside and two deck chairs so that no matter how the weather was faring, you have an option. The breakfast is very generous and good and the staff and owner helpful and most pleasant.

This adorable little bnb was just what you would imagine a little Swiss Chalet is going to look like inside and out.
Our hostess Jaqueline was very sweet and accommodating.  By her own words she said she didn’t speak much English but she was great no problem communicating with us and provided a great breakfast.
Our only negative was the heat it was cold when we were there and the heaters didn’t seem to be on.  I would recommend you book the top floor since it’s an old building all wood you can hear everything from the room above.

Swiss Chalet 

Our stay here was outstanding! A truly Swiss experience with a wonderful owner, Jackie who was really gracious. She makes a delightful breakfast and were able to make sandwiches for our lunch as well.

She suggested a great restaurant, Bramisegg which is on the other side of the lake. She called the owner to make our reservation and her husband Marcus drove us there and picked us up. Jackie also drove us to the train station since it was raining!

I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast!

Charming Swiss Bed and Breakfast

This little bnb in the small town of Brienz is magical. The little chalet with 3 rooms was built in 1602. If you want a true Swiss feeling, then this is the place for you. The host Jackie is very lovely too

Uniquely Swiss

B&B situated 5-10 min from Brienz train station (for the ones with car, as our case, plenty of free parking places). We had a free upgrade to a huge and lovely apartment (#3), with views to the lake and mountains. All simple, but comfy and nice and spacious. Great and copious breakfast, all home-prepared by the lovely host Jacqueline (as others pointed out, better to communicate in German, but she does get around in English).  
It's all simple, but worth the money (given the prices of tiny hotels rooms in the region, this was a great finding).

Lovely apartment with awesome views

Quite a Swiss experience, that takes you back in time. 

Little 400 years old cottage overlooking Brienz lake, surrounded by mountains, what else do you want... very close to the train station, shops and restaurants, next to the cable car (summer time only).

Interiors are vintage and charming, with little touches from the lovely owner. The place is spotless! You can't find a fault, even if you search for it!

Breakfast, well, where do you want me to start... Soya milk and soya yogurts, just because we don't eat dairy products, nice coffee and Swiss muesli. 

Once you get to know the owner, you fell like a family.

Charming cottage overlooking a lake, surrounded by mountains

The owner of this quaint old chalet is a lovely lady and extremely friendly and helpful. She doesn't speak much English, so it helps if you can speak German. The location is great, with a view over the lake and the Rothorn Bahn passing directly beneath you, and Brienz is a lovely little town. The chalet is full of character and is a great place to stay if you're exploring the region. It's a very old building and the floors of the chalet carried sound, so you could hear people walking around above you, but this was not really a problem (might be if you had noisy neighbors).

This area of Switzerland can get a lot of rain and when the clouds roll in you can't enjoy the mountain trains and other attractions, although there are caves and waterfalls in the area that you can still visit.
