Really enjoyed the dinner here. Fresh genuine local ingredients, including local beer, very well prepared chicken, super friendly young staff. And a nice amuse to start with.
Definitely worthwhile to drive to!



Our first summer visit. The ambience was beautiful, restful n peaceful. We were awed by the1700 house we lived in. The place was pictureresque with the small details n homely. Beautiful summer flowers n delicious swedish meal.

Stayed in a 17th century cottage with an attic room which is beautifully restored. Every room is decorated with owner's carefully selected antique curios, paintings to give it a very homely feel. You will feel relax and enact the childhood dream in such a cottage. I almost expect to find goldilocks and the 3 bears living in one of the rooms.
The restaurant food is 1st class. The best duck confit I ever tasted with beautiful plating Already missing the place after returning 1 week

Like living In Fairy Tales

We paid good money in order to stay in a picturesque atmosphere where we expected good quality of rooms and service but were rather disappointed. The rating of the hotel has probably been inflated by the restaurant part of the establishment where it is possible to enjoy superb food. 

Check in is during the front desk opening hours - 15-18. So no obvious way to ask for help during other times if there would be a problem. We had complaints to the cleaning which was of poor standard but didn’t know how to forward them. 

Rooms are fine but nothing special. 90% appears to be IKEA and not refurbished in a while. 

You can rent bikes but it’s not possible to take smaller children with you.

Don’t stay here when it is hot. Our family of 2 adults and a two year-old stayed three nights in July-August, an unusually hot and humid week. We almost couldn’t sleep and our boy suffered heat rash. Yes, it is understandable that the hotel of this size can’t provide ac in a location like this - it is mostly 10 degrees colder in the summer - but some air circulation would be helpful.  

On the positive side you can sit outside in the warm evening and chat in a very nice environment. Insect repellent is recommended. 

The breakfast was very tasty, quite healthy and likely very Scandinavian. 

The staff was probably mostly too busy and didn’t seem to have time to offer a smile or to fill up the breakfast buffet too fast. 

Not worth the room rate but great food

For 1200 SEK breakfast included Euros we had a small stinky and dirty room. Alvaret was the name of the room we got. Especially the bathroom was very old, the showercurtain was very dirty. There were a lot of spidesrweb on the side of the bed and dead spiders on the ground. The room was very stinky and we didn t find out how to open the windows of this room on ground floor. The furniture was very cheap and looked like furniture for a jail. We travelled 2 weeeks in Sweden, every day in another hotel for about same prize. That was by far the worst place. Breakfast was not bad but not a highlight neither. We got bicycle for 2 hours for free. That was a good service. But we would never again stay there.
