We chose this hotel for its stunning view of the sea and price point. It met all our expectations. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony and chairs. Sheets and towels changed regularly. Bathroom and shower perfectly acceptable considering Union Island has limited water supplies. Sandra and team went out of their way to help us enjoy our holiday.  Sparrows Beach and restaurant just a short walk away, and definitely worth visiting.

A good place to stay in Union island

Chose hotel down to price , didn’t realise the hotel was so remote. When we arrived it did look derelict. The room was big and rather dated and basic. It did the job. The view was stunning , the beach was always empty, the sea is a little ruff. Could do with some more shade and beds on the beach. Jack sparrows is walkable and nice food. Several places in town to eat . Tea making facilities in the room. The housekeeper was lovley . You get what you pay for ! And I can’t complain for the price .

Remote location

We chose this hotel for it's location and local charm and price point and on all counts it didn't disappoint.  The location overlooking a small beach with views across to Mayreau is fabulous. The rooms are spacious and very clean, our bed was comfortable (but quite low) and with windows and a fan we were cool enough at night (making use of the mosquito net). We had use of a fridge in the corridor outside the room and daily house keeping.  Our terrace was lovely but seating not the most comfortable.  The bathroom was clean and joyfully we had hot water every day. 

Location is great, feels like a bit of paradise.  In addition to the outlook and quiet you are walking distance from the town (up and over the hill, 13 mins for us!) or along the beach and salt pond to Sparrows Beach Bar and Big Sands (10 mins) for gorgeous swimming.  We ate two evening meals prepared by Holly - both were good, but her prices are not especially competitive.  Sandra is helpful and welcoming and organised taxis for us, also recommended things to do such as Ashton Lagoon and Chatham Bay. 

Maintenance challenges, weather, water issues, electricity and supplies are just some of the challenges faced by the tourist industry in SVG.  After several stays in different island hotels and guest houses in the SVG we'd rate this one pretty good and in the sometimes difficult circumstances of being an hotellier in such a tropical and remote spot Sandra delivers a lovely and comfortable place to stay.

Great place to stay when visiting and exploring Union Island. 
Sandra was a lovely host and Holly cooks amazing meals. 
Would definitely recommend. 
Natural beach and love the cows just wandering past.

The Islanders Inn

We took the Jayden sun fast ferry from Bequia to Union  island (highly recommended) fast ferry cost EC$100 each.
Stopping off at Canuoan & Mayreau journey time 2 hours. Sandra the owner arranged for a taxi to meet us & a lovely home cooked supper was prepared by Holly the Chef. Rooms are clean , spacious & comfortable. A small fridge inc. Some of the family rooms have kitchens. We had a large terrace facing the beach. Beach outside hotel is pretty and natural.  A short walk away is Big Sand Beach with Jack Sparrows Restaurant & Bar, with lots of sun beds. You can walk into The nearby town of Clifton. If you are feeling energetic a steep walk up to The Old Fort Hill is rewarded with beautiful views of the Islands.

Lovely little island Getaway

Such a nice small hotel overlooking a perfect secluded beach. My room had a perfect balcony view of a palm tree framed beach. I could have stayed there and done nothing and been perfectly content with the sea breeze and waves! Definitely a piece of paradise. Islander Inn is just a short 10 minute walk over the hill to Clifton with its small restaurants and bars, shops, and port. Farther along the beach is also a nice restaurant and bar. Union is a very walkable island, and you won't find all of the busy traffic of the other islands. I highly recommend Islander Inn for anyone looking for a tropical beach, peace, and quiet. Off the beaten path but still close to amenities. The  owner Sandra is very nice and helpful, and can direct you to anything you need around the island. I will definitely be back next year!

Beautiful views and quiet spot

We stayed at The Islander’s Inn on Union Island in November 2021 for several nights and it was an extremely pleasant experience. We arrived from Bequia and landed in Union Island Airport and it was just a short taxi ride to the accommodation. One can also walk to the airport, which we did to enquire about a flight to the mainland. I recommend that people do this (even if they do not have a flight) because it is interesting to see as it is a small airport. 

The room was kept clean and it was spacious. Hearing the sound of the waves was soothing. Our room had a balcony and it was a great place to read a few books.

Although there is no A/C, there is a fan.

The owner, Sandra, was lovely and she arranged a trip to The Tobago Cays. As we were there for just over a week, we also got our laundry done for a reasonable amount.

The beach is a lovely and peaceful place to go for a walk.

Clifton is a short walk from the hotel and it is in close proximity to The Sparrow Beach Club, which is a great place to swim. There are two ways to get into town: If you turn left when you leave the hotel, facing the beach, then you miss the hill but it is slightly muddy. If you turn right, you have to go up a steep hill, but it is also extremely scenic and great exercise. You might also see tortoises.

It is also a quiet place to stay, which is a huge bonus.

It would be nice if there could be a fridge in the room as one is advised not to drink the water and we had to purchase it. 

I left a few of my books in the room and I hope that someone has found a good use for them.

A Relaxing Place Where One Can Hear the Soothing Sound of The Waves

The hotel is 10-15 min walk from Clifton on a very private beach which is never crowded. It's also 5-10 min walk to Sparrow's Beach Club (also a good beach and restaurant).
The rooms are tidy and super clean. We found the service to be great: our room was kept neat daily as the fresh crispy towels were brought.  
This hotel has a gorgeous view and you can hear the sound of the ocean at night. We enjoyed European style breakfast and the way it was served.  
The only thing we would change is a shower handle that was a bit leaky. Wi-fi is available only on the patio, but we used it to our advantage and spend less time on Internet. 
We enjoyed or stay very much and the peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend for laid-back vacation.

Immaculate hotel in a very good location

For anybody who appreciates nature at it`s best the Islander`s Inn is the place to be.
A beautiful hotel thoughtfully embedded in nature in a fantastic location. With direct access to the ocean - a private beach right across the hotel. The hotel complex is well maintained and beautifully landscaped -surrounded by unspoiled nature. Located only a 15 minute walk from the town of Clifton. The rooms are immaculately clean and meet high european standards. All decorated with love. And a STUNNING view!  Mosquito nets and free WiFi round off the hotel's profile.This place really is an insider tip!!
The lovely host Sandra is very friendly, helpful and does her utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible.The welcome is very warm and I felt at home from the first second. 
The food is delicious. And a tasty breakfast on the beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean is the best way to start a day.
I highly recommend this place for all those who appreciate a quiet accomodation in a dreamlike setting. I will definitely be back.

Living a dream

Popped in for a drink, whilst staying elsewhere and immediately thought “we need to be staying here!”
Sandra, the host, is a truly lovely lady, she will certainly look after you.
What she and her husband have built here is a little piece of paradise.
As you arrive here, you will pass through a gate that leads you along a garden/patio area in front of the inn, sun loungers at the ready, and treasures from the beech furnish the tables.
the view will speak for itself, and the room also.
Upon entering, subtle tones and a ‘laid’ table furnished with flowers awaits, a fresh comfy bed, tiled floor and a small kitchen area with fridge...a bathroom, with all you would want behind a frosted glass door.
As with everywhere on the island, people have had to create spaces with what’s available, Sandra and her husband have certainly done this, attention to detail and quirky-ness shine through.......
Being that bit further away from the main town (1km!) the tranquility is notable....all you will hear is the sea lapping the white sand beech just outside.

We have had a truly relaxing stay here, and after being at other places on the island, would say the most relaxing place we have found!
would recommend to anyone.......
