We had a great time.  little bit away from Beach.  but it is nice. host is very kind. our room was very clean. bed was very comparable .  so we are very happy to recommend this lovely place, very reasonable price for meals.

Wow.. Nice little Place

I booked at Club Mirissa, 183 Beachside Road for New Years Eve for two nights.

I booked more than two weeks in advance through booking.com to make sure I had a place to stay.

I also messaged the property to confirm what time I was arriving, midday and asked them to confirm staff would be there to check me in. They replied 'sure looking forward to welcoming you'

When I arrived on time on New Years Eve after a long flight and early morning train journey, I took a tuk tuk to Club Mirissa.

I was immediately told they had no rooms. What?!
And I was not the only one! There were other travellers who had paid already who were standing there in the same mess of a situation as me.

They had a girl there with a list of the 'bookings' I was on her list!  She basically tells you you don't have a room and telephones Shyam - the master con man.

He tries to bulls**t you that you didn't book Club Mirissa, 183 Beachside Road (yes I did it's on the Booking.com listing and my booking confirmation) He says you booked Club Mirissa Resorts -which is a number of different places at various locations-bulls**t it doesn't exist. (In his diluded criminal mind he thinks he's running a chain of hotels).

He then gets a tuk tuk to take me to some ladies house down a dark alleyway where she has a room upstairs! No thanks That's not what I booked & travelled thousands of miles for, to be stranded in the middle of nowhere on New Years Eve!

Whilst I was at Club Mirissa (which also goes under the names Seaside Cabanas & La La Land-they're all the same place and in this dishonest holiday-misery mess together) they continued to show availability for a single/double room on booking.com & hotels.com, despite me being there with a confirmed booking and not being given a room!  La Land was advertising a single room with a picture of a concrete room with a nornal bed....In reality all they had available at the place were tents!
 
You may think reading this I could be just another moaning reviewer...afraid not. I have travelled to over 70 countries, I don't need too many comforts, just the basics AND of course honesty.

Here all you will find is greed and crookedness - They basically use online platforms to lure customers in and then give you a substandard room elsewhere, which you didn't book, whilst charging you the original price! The police should be called. They shouldn't be allowed to continue doing this.

Have a stress-free holiday. Avoid Club Mirissa like the plague!

WARNING - CLUB MIRISSA DOES NOT EXIST!

Really quiet place with a fantastic garden with hamacas where you can relax.

Rooms are clean and very big, with private bathroom, fan and hot water.

Nice relation betwwen price and quality.

Next to Mirissa’s beach, party and restaurants but quiet place.

Staff is so nice, very familiar.Sometimes there is a tuktuk woman driver at the door who is so honest and charming.

Nice breakfast for good price.

Oasis in Mirissa

We had a good stay there. Close to beach about 100m. Clean rooms with or without a/c. They have hammocks too if you wanna relax outside.  Not very pricey place. Very hospitable people owning the place. A big garden is there.

The garden is as beautiful in real life as in the pictures and the staff is very friendly!
On the contrary to other reviews, I found the living standards to be very nice judging from other options in Mirissa. There is simply no other place where you will get the same quality for the money you pay. The breakfast was perfect! Fresh fruit followed by fried eggs, toast and marmalade with either tea or coffee to drink. Delicious, hygienic and locally grown! This was my first ever trip outside of Europe and I was very well taken care of by the staff and owner. They were truly very helpful with anything I needed and really helped me make my first vacation truly memorable.

An Amazing Place!

Terrible, dirty, dark room, so bad had to check out early. mosquito net was dirty as well as the sheets. no hot water either. avoid at all costs!
