Beautiful experience.  Comfortable rooms and Beautiful sea view rooms. 
Restaurant and bar is amazing, good food and restaurant get busy in the evening. 

Recommended to stay and experience their foods and services. Really friendly staff and really welcoming, makes you feel like home.

My 2nd visit to this place as i had fallen in love with its aura, absolute beach life feel and finger licking sri lankan curry. An absolute delish. Rooms are amazing with beach view so are the people at funky. Saya goes out of way to help out the visitors staying even if it is beyond hotel and restaurant services. Kudos to this place and people like saya who make it in everyway the most ideal place to stay in Hikka.

Lovely place in front of the ocean and of the main surf breaks of Hikkaduwa! Big and bight clean rooms. Beautiful bathroom, big comfy bed. Everything is very nice and nothing is missing. The owners of this hotel + bar/restaurant are a beautiful family and they make you feel very welcome... and I love listening to reggae while having breakfast in front of the ocean... I really enjoyed my stay at Funky. The room is new with a great bathroom, nice balcony with ocean view, and wonderful staff. The manager even added HBO to the TV for me. Not good for children. I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant located right on the beach.

Nice place to stop & have a lunch after swimming in the ocean! Cool place run by nice young people. Good food, good drinks. Varför måste man skriva 200 karaktärer detta är ingen tidningsartikel hallå. 

The rooms are great for the price you pay.  They may be a bit noisy from the bar in peak season but the standard of the rooms are high.  Had a slight problem with hot water in the shower but was promptly fixed.  The manager and staff are very friendly.  Well recommended.

Gorgeous spot and a great place to sit and have a few beers and watch the surfers. Great music - lots of reggae with a good atmosphere. We ate here once and the food was ok but really you are coming for the vibe, view and really friendly bar staff!

Hotel is situated on the beach. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Bar downstares good for breackfast. 2 times a week there is a party going on, so you better stay there if like to party as sleeping on that days is almost imposible untill the party will be over. Yet it didn't bother us. vwry good welcoming staff. We stayed halfday longer than was agreed and we were not charged for that. So we were very gratefull for that as well. Arroung hotel alot cafes and restaurants. Good location.

Made a bit of a mistake booking here. I wanted a nice room, and it was nice, but far too expensive for what it was. However funky is a bit of a party place, it is loud till the early hours, on both nights lots of corridor shouting and banging, big groups of guys hanging out. Breakfast was bad, didn’t try any other food. Staff were friendly enough but wouldn’t go back.

Loud & laddish

Like everywhere, I asked for juice without water and sugar. 
The bartender told me “Girl, if I will make it without water, you will pay 1000, understudied?” 
I had a shock because of tone of his voice, then I told him “in another places it’s no problem.”. He had an answer for me: “so, go to another places” 
It was just disgusting, so unfriendly staff so hard to meet in Hikkaduwa! 
People like this disgusting bartender don’t have to make a business. The service like this don’t have to be accepted. 
Don’t come to worst bar ever, save your mood and positive vibe instead!!!
