It's Terrible. They don't allow locals to stay. I've been here with my Polish friend and they didn't allow me to stay just because I'm SriLankan. The owner who was also SriLankan said that most locals stole the foreigners' belongings. I don't really understand how it could happen. Boycott this place till they end this Racism.

Racism. No Locals

Robert was a fantastic host! It was an unexpected stop due to my motorcycle breaking down but it turns out he is in a great location for town and the caves. The family cooked dinner and made tea while his son repaired my motorcycle! He is passionate about Sri Lanka and also advised of things to do in the area while helping me with my onward journey.

Unexpected stop but fantastic experience!

The room is very basic. Mosquitos and any kinds of bugs are able to access the room through the holes in the walls. The bed has a mosquito net though. 
Robert seemed to be lovely at first until I have realised that anything he does has a price tag on it. I was promised to be charged less than the standard tuk tuk 40 rupee a km when using his service. He charged me far more than that, being pushy to spend even more money on a safari etc. Don’t fall into going to a spice garden with him- he only brings you there for you to spend your money on shopping (there is nothing interesting there), the guys running the place are all his friends. The wifi never works properly. Robert was insistent on me leaving a good review. I don’t like fake intentions and hidden agenda. I felt as a walking cash machine rather than a guest.

Upsetting experience

Great place!! Gave us the best room with beautiful colors and a magical bathroom and also helped run us around town to make the most of our short visit to Dambulla! Which is a great town!

Robert is great!

Robert is super helpful and a very nice person, drove us around to sightseeing around town! Basic but clean and nice rooms, good mosquito nets and comfortable beds. Easy to walk in to the city with cheap eating options and supermarket :)

The hostel is basic, clean, in green sourroundinds. The owner is a very good and helpful person.
We feel welcomed.
The atmosphere is very familiar.
Free drinking water and wifi, scooter rental at good price.
