The terrible and the ugliest hotel I have ever stayed in my life. Bathrooms and rooms are dirty. Cockroaches everywhere and full of bugs in beds. Staff is unkind, unfriendly and unreceptive. Finally, the most unprofessional hotel I have ever spent

The  most ugliest hotel I I ever stayed.

It has been a pleasure to stay here. The staff is very helpful and the Roms are very clean. It is not far from the bus station/City centre. I have been staying at many Hostels in Sri Lanka but this one was the most comfy and clean one. Highly recommend this place. Female solo travellor.

Best Hostel in Sri Lanka

I chose this place for its proximity to the Dambulla Caves and the Sigirya Rock Fortress. The price was cheap. Upon arrival, I understood why. The place is filthy! The door to my dorm didn't open all the way because it got stuck on the floor and made a terrible noise. The mosquito net over my bunk had huge holes in it. Half the light bulbs in my dorm were out. The windows in the washroom wouldn't close and there were ants crawling along the walls in there. The water in the shower was freezing and it got all over the toilet. There's a pool at the hostel, but it had no water in it. Breakfast was an additional charge and not worth it as there are better options in town. 
The location is good. Though a 15 min walk to the nearest restaurant and grocery store.

You get what you pay for

A well chilled with lots of atmosphere for the tired traveller to wind down. The atmosphere is so great that there are lots things to do with fellow travellers at the end of a tired day. A chill hangout area where a B b que or a cook out, bring your own beverages and share the evening discussing your travel experiences....there are about 5 rooms all sharing bunk bedding and reasonably priced as well.. Comes with breakfast and other meals could be in takeout form or visit the recomended places....my recomendation is a chill place known as Laki's Lounge out of hassle and bassle of the city caos on route to Sigiriya,Habarana etc..

Lovely place to stay n share travel experience

Amazing hostel with great social vibe. Friendly owner and staff. Organised bbq was great to help us meet other people and we had a really good night on that day. There aren’t really many restaurants nearby but you can take a 20-25 min walk or get a tuktuk, or the staff will order food to be delivered for you.

The hostel is disgusting, no clean at all. All the sofas are full of dog’s hair and smelling so bad ( you can’t seat and chill). The door of the room so noisy so if you are sleeping and someone open and close the door, 100% sure you’ll be awake. The staff is TERRIBLE. First day we arrived, the manager was hangover and he almost couldn’t show us the room and the hostel. He thinks that he’s funny but NO. Second day, we ordered the breakfast at 7am (ordered the day before because he has to buy the exact quantity), he was sleeping and the tuk tuk driver couldn’t buy the food, SO NO BREAKFAST CAUSE THEY DIDN’T DO THEIR JOB ( also we were waiting 45 minutes to solve the problem). Anyway, we didn’t get the breakfast and the manager’s answer was: GO TO MANGO MANGO THEY DO BREAKFAST THERE. 
The day before as well we asked for information about the safari, and he was to short in words cause he was hangover. Anyway, after going to differents places to ask for safari, we decided to do it with our hostel. Next day, with no breakfast, 45 minutes waiting, the super manager came and said “oh girls You can do the safari with another 2 people, and also they gonna drive you to Sigiriya, is gonna be cheaper, bla bla bla” and exactly was bla bla bla cause he didn’t even double check if we fit in that car, it was already full. After that he didn’t even say sorry, not offered any other solutions and make us a little bit happy. 
In the evening, he was doing a bbq (so expensive for what it’s, they make lot of money with that), we ordered a beer. You know how long we had to wait? 45 MINUTES, cause he was busy counting coins.. and we went to him to ask for the beer 4 times. SERIOUSLY WORST BACKPACKER AND MANAGER EVER. -
He doesn’t know how to manage a hostel and even people.

WORST BACKPACKER EVER

Stayed there for 2 nights after Sigiriya. Cool atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff members, definitely a place to stay. Had a locker in dorm (with power plug inside locker), bathrooms were clean, bunkbed too. It may look pretty basic, but you really dont need more. Oh, and staff made delicious dinner! 😉

The hostel to go!

It's a perfect place to do many activities without changing a place every day. 
The hostel is very comfortable. There are so many places to sit and talk to others. I met many incredible people there and we've been travelling together for more than 2 weeks around Sri Lanka. The manager organized the barbecue for us one evening. It was really nice!
