It is the Inca small authentic hotel on the ocean shore. We enjoyed staying in this hotel, because it’s calm, quiet and there aren’t plenty of tourists.  The hotel management is restoring the room stock, which is also good news. I liked this hotel, because it evokes a feeling of home and comfort. Separately, I want to highlight Ashan, who showed us beautiful beaches around the hotel and he took us on a great trip to Galle. I hope that I’ll come back in this hotel next season

It’s happy to say that, wonderful location and wonderful people with mouth watering food and beverages. This is the best in Beruwala , value for money. Within $25 to $30  you can book only small home stays in Beruwala area . But this is the grate deal and grate hotel to stay . Again value for money in Beruwala area.

We stayed at hotel Sumadai beginning of 2020. It was very nice period for my life. Hotel has very beautiful sea view. It faced Beruwala lighthouse island. Staff very helpful and kindly. They provided super quick service. Always smile faces. Rooms are very clean.There is restaurant in hotel. Foods are fresh and very tasty. Behind the hotel has very beautiful lake. Lot of animals living there. Many kind of birds, monitors & etc. We swim everyday in sea. Sea is very clean. We enjoyed very well in hotel Sumadai. We hope to come again here.

when we arrived at the hotel we were advised that our room was not available and even though we booked through booking.com this is normal!-during the 30 min tat followed we saw the rep calling and saying rooms not available in other properties until finally then told us there is a room in a under construction villa we had travelled all day and were with kids so we said its ok to spend the night the room had mosquitoes/lizards/ants anyways we spent the night there the next day we were given our booked room which was filthy with ants everywhere/lizards and shaking beds-the restaurant food was unbearable  nothing was clean-on checkout when we raised concerns we were told but you accepted the alternate! and a USD 10 discount!-i wish this was not how our vacation to sri lanka would end and i wish that i would have never booked this hotel-u can go to their beach area but u might not be able to stand the stench it was so dirty with garbage and street dogs i didnt allow my kids there.

After reading reviews, we've expected less than we've got, however, there were still a number of problems. Not a single member of hotel crew was speaking an appropriate English. We solved a lot of our issues with russian-speaking hotel owner, but it was quite hard to get something from staff, they understand only keywords, like "water", "room service", "tuk-tuk", "breakfast".
Room was so-so, not really clean, not really comfy (AC got broken in the middle of the trip, so the ceiling fan was the only salvation), but acceptable.
We've tried a breakfast, nothing special, but ok, if you're in hurry and have no time to go somewhere else.
Beach is nearby, but sometimes it was pretty dirty, what could make some of your photos worse. Apart of it, vista is great: ocean, rocks, island with lighthouse, sand and so on.
There were some key benefits of staying there. First of all, no rules. Nobody really cares about how do you look, what do you do, how do you behave. It may cause troubles, if you're too serious about your trip, but don't be. Take it easy and you won't regret. Second, it is totally client-oriented. If you managed to explain, what do you want, they will be eager to satisfy you. Hotel taxists will take you almost anywhere for free and will wait for you to finish and take you to the next place. Also, almost every taxist in Beruwala, Aluthgama, Bentota know your hotel as well as its owner, Sasha, and will take you there for low price or even for free.
So, this hotel is ok for those who is able to relax under different conditions, who is communicative and easygoing.

Excellent place .. superb location with sea and lake ...there are very good staff and excellent service ... there is a lighthouse island in front of the hotel... best seafoods and drink... this is amazing place ... I want to visit another time this amazing place ... good condition rooms and all of things .. love this place 

Vacation

My family and I visited this hotel hoping to stay for a weekend of about three days for a leisure vacation. When we first arrived to the small secluded hotel, we were greeted by a very disorganized staff and taken to our rooms, which was satisfactory for the somewhat low price we had paid for the accommodation. As we were starving from the long drive from Colombo to Beruwala, we decided to order some food from the hotel's in-house restaurant menu, mainly because we wanted a quick service and also because we really weren't aware of any good food and beverage outlets anywhere nearby, as we were new to the area. So we ordered the food from a small menu the restaurant of the hotel had to offer. However, we were extremely frustrated to find out that one entire hour had passed and the staff hadn't even bothered to set up the table with crockery and cutlery, let alone actually serve the food. We decided to ask the staff about the delay, and was asked to wait for 20 more minutes. Did I mention that we were the only guests in the hotel!? We were then brought a water bottle upon request (which was not chilled the way we asked for it to be). Another hour had passed without any food and we kept getting more frustrated as we hadn't had any food to eat the entire day. My family and I were talking about how the food better be good as it took so long to prepare. Finally, two hours later, the food had arrived. As a cheese lover, I had ordered a classic Spaghetti Carbonara. I was extremely furious and upset to find out that what I got was just a normal pack of spaghetti boiled in water and dumped on the plate. This was the first time I had a "carbonara" without a hint of cheese. There had been no effort put into any of the other dishes either, that it was actually laughable. To make matters worse, the food had gone cold by the time it was served to us. We had lost our appetite too and some of us could not finish our food. It was a joke to have been served such unacceptable food after a 2 hour wait. I can without a doubt say that we would never go back to this hotel, and will never order their overpriced bland food again. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't have the patience to wait hours for a terrible meal.
