Aayu's Guest

Very friendly owner with a sweet dog is running the place. It's not far from the beach, so the location is also great. Rooms are nice and also the breakfast was really nice (see photo). Of you are in Bentota looking for a super place to stay, come to Aayus guest house :). 

Great location, close to the beach. Lovely family made us feel so welcome and the breakfast was amazing. Would definitely go back.
Rooms had air con and mosquito nets and were very clean.
Host also  helped us book local tour trips at very good prices.

We spent 4 nights here. The room was small but spotless, with mosquito net, A/C, modern shower room. The breakfasts were excellent and Tillini, the host, was really helpful answering our questions and providing local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble! Thanks Tillini!

The room was as in the pictures, basic amenities, fan and AC, with a wardrobe, a comfortable bed with a mosquito net. But the hosts were the highlight. They were so nice to us, guided us at every step. Walked us down to the station, when we decided to do a day trip to galle, and even packed us a nice breakfast for the morning. Thileena was extremely sweet and helpful. The rains spoilt most of our plans at Bentota, but hope to visit again.

Our room was large enough, good size bathroom and very very helpful hosts, even fixed a broken suitcase for my friend. Sound advice on methods of transport, places to visit and places to eat. Really lovely people with a fresh and plentiful breakfast every morning to help us through the day.

On arrival we were met by our host Thilli, she was so welcoming and within a few minutes we were sat down and given a fruit platter to refresh us. This homestay is such a nice place. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. There is a nice outside patio and each room has its own table and chairs for breakfast. The breakfasts were lovely; eggs and toast, fresh fruit, smoothies and tea and coffee. Thilli was always on hand to give advice on the local area and directions. The homestay is a 2 minute walk to the beach and the train station. Bentota is a nice small town with a lovely clean and uncrowded beach.
If visiting, go to the Rana seafood restaurant, 5 mins along the railway track. The food there is superb, good service and the trains go right past the place. If you are visiting Bentota I would highly recommend staying at Aayu's Guest. you will receive a warm welcome and have a very comfortable stay. The  only negative is that you have to leave at some point

I didn't stay at this guest house but my daughter and her partner did for 10 days. We went to see where they were staying and were blown away on how lovely this place was.  Their room was just as lovely as ours and we were staying at the 5* hotel just up the road!!

The hospitality and kindness my family were given was second to non, their hosts invited my husband and I for breakfast when we were all going on a trip together and the food just kept coming, I'm really annoyed that I cannot remember her name because she was such a lovely kind person.

Anyone thinking about staying here will not be disappointed and I promise you once you've had breakfast you won't need to eat until the evening!!

We had a lovely stay here at the end of our Sri Lanka trip.  We were really well looked after and our room and bathroom were immaculate.  Breakfasts here were huge with a eggs, toast and an incredible selection of delicious tropical fruits each morning. 

Location-wise Aayu's is just yards from the beautiful beach, the railway station and a small parade of tourist-friendly restaurants, so if you don't have much time, you don't need to venture much further than your own doorstep.  

With some helpful advice from Tilini we planned a day trip to Galle on the train Rs120 (about £0.55) per person each way and that was a lovely way to spend one of our days in this region.

Aayu gave us a lovely welcome, and after we'd checked into our room took us on a quick tour of the immediate area, and recommended a great place to eat. Room was clean and comfortable. Air con, fan, and mozzie net. Fabulous breakfast. A great stay to start our Sri Lankan holiday. She also arranged a transfer from the airport at a reasonable rate.
