Awesome stay, beautiful location and friendly staffs, very good hospitality, food is amazing, budget friendly, worth staying with friends or family, all the facilities are amazing,must visit place, thank you

Awesome stay and staffs are very friendly

We had 3 nights here & it is a difficult hotel to rate.
The look of the building & the rooms is spartan & uninviting- not a great 1st impression unfortunately. 
The beds were quite hard & the pillows not great
We booked car & driver on to our next stop & the car was very old & had no air conditioning- not sure if this was the hotel or car hire companies mistake though 
The advantages are-
A good price right in town
All areas are clean
The staff are helpful and cheerful 
Breakfast was simple but good
Not sure I would stay here again 

Good & bad

The staff was very welcoming. I arrived very early and they were still able to get me into my room. When I advised them that I was taking the train to Kandy the next morning, they said that they would have a sack breakfast ready (waters, boiled egg, bananas and a very good breakfast sandwich). The WiFi was good and the TV had several English language channels.  Overall, a good value in Ella. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.Also, check out the Rose Cabin Mexican Restaurant just down the road. Very good nachos, considering you are in a mountain village in the middle of Sri Lanka.

Afforable in Ella

The staff, particularly the man at the front desk (I forgot his name!) were so genuinely friendly and accomodating from the second I arrived. He answered all of my questions, smiled a lot and made me feel safe as a solo female traveller. On my last day when I had to leave at 6am to get the early train, he woke up and prepared my breakfast in a little to-go bag for my journey.Exceptional service in a really convenient location, very close to all the attractions like 9 arch bridge, little Adam’s peak and the main strip of shops in Ella. Yes the room is basic but very clean and very affordable! Would definitely recommend!

great place to stay in Ella. Pleasant staff......

Ella rock house was a nice change for us large rooms, hot water, private balcony and awesome breakfast included if only we stayed longer, walking distance to nine arch bridge and town, make sure you stop at the pizza pasta place on the way back 👍 he also arranged a car for us to Arugam  bay.

Great location in a quiet area, really enjoyed the breakfast and staff. Wish we had more than 2 nights here

We had a great staying at Ella rock house.
After 3 nights they arranged a taxi for us to go to the south of sri lanka. This driver drove like a maniak. A lot of people drive hard and not as we're used to in europe, but this was unbeleavable. AND MOSTELY FOR 65 EUROS!!!! He drove in too smal streets almost 100 km/h and we've had oncountable almost accedents. We said to him a couple of times he needs to drive slower, but he didn't. Then we asked him to stop the car, he get's his money but we wil arrange something else for the rest of the trip. But he didn't. He drove away like crazy, almost hit a bus and said we're not getting out. We called the hotel, and said what the situation was. They talked to the driver and asked if we are going to give him money. We said 65 euros is way too much for this crazy way of driving. When the driver stopped, he trettened us that he would call the police and became very agressive. We paid him and left of. 

Be carefull with who you get in the car with, it felt really unsafe and mostely terrifying....
