Finca El Gallo

Stayed here for a week in March. We had stayed on the island in November and we were happy to return to the accommodation we had then but unfortunately it was not available for all of our visit so we came across Finca El Gallo. There are three apartments in a small bloc in the small village of Todoque which is on the West side of the island. We had a two-bed unit with a double and a twin. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The kitchen had a hob, kettle, microwave and toaster. The only thing lacking was an oven but we still managed to cook a couple of full on meals. The bathroom was also well fitted out and we had enough hot water. All the rooms had a Seaview and we had a balcony looking out to sea but also the traffic. Yes, the apartments are straight on to a busy enough road. We didn’t have any noise issue overnight though. Entertainment wise the TV had numerous channels but we could only find Sky news international in English. WIFI signal was strong and the internet was good when it worked but it often dropped out. The owner was very helpful and we were welcomed with organic wine from their own vines and fruit from their farm. As said Todoque is a small village and staying there with the church bell, cockerel is a vastly different experience from what you find at the nearby resort of Puerto Naos which looks like large parts of Milton Keynes has been dumped by a nice beach. There are two restaurants a short stroll away and each is very god but also totally different. We also had a takeaway from the Pizza place in nearby La Laguna. It’s makes a good base to explore the West side of the island. The apartments are relatively easy to find: Once you reach Todoque village sign look out for the church on you right there will be a roundabout on the left turn left on to the LP211 and the apartments are 150m up the road on the left. I would highly recommend these apartments.
