Hotel Rincón del Abade

We stayed a week at this wonderful hotel in the Extramadura Region of Spain, just 15 minutes away from the Portuguese border. It was amazing place! Quietness, comfortable rooms and beds, Air conditioning (temperatures can be as high as 43 C in August!), but not the least an amazing service at tables with typical Spanish meals from the region. Delicious pork meat, and thin cuts from dried pork meat. Kind staff ready to help you out (they even found tennis balls for us!) - very impressed by our waitress Ana who served us with such a smile! The small town of Encinasola is very safe, has a clean public pool and tennis court just by hotel, and was beautiful for walks or coffee/snacks at night - yes, people in Spain eat supper very late (10-11 pm) and enjoy themselves in the cool air of the night until 2 am! This area is very beautiful for its quietness and the most clear starry sky I have ever seen. Not far is a family-run Olive oil plant that is very fascinating to visit - they produce the best organic oil in the country! REALLY a great place to spend vacation!
